New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

I’m so glad Josh spoke out about how he is feeling - what a positive message that was to put across to any viewers who may be experiencing the same.

And please Oliie, cut your hair!!

You look soooo much sexier with shorter hair.

I used to fancy the arse off him but now he just looks messy.

SleepingStandingUp · 26/10/2021 23:39

Back away from the hair!!

cittigirl · 27/10/2021 07:26

Yeah back away from the hair. I like it.

Can someone explain the HH locked in a cupboard scenario? I didn't really understand it. And his search for an overhead projector..
Sorry HH pathetic acting unless you're a teenager looking for something...and can't find it even though its staring you in the face 🤣.

Max was horrible to that nurse, her guilt for reviving Lucky. Why can't she have a DNAR?

TrashyPanda · 27/10/2021 09:41

The whole Josh/bulimia storyline feels very artificial and manufactured.

He gets more responsibility than any other F1 in the history of Holby. Which is strange, because he comes across as very immature.

Ollie looks 100% better with long hair.

SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 09:57

Can someone explain the HH locked in a cupboard scenario?

I assumed the other guy did it deliberately to benefit Ollie in some way.

Henrik was looking for a bulb for the projector rather than the projector itself so it was at least quite small and easily missed. Although it's utterly stupid to think he was using an OHP rather than a PowerPoint presentation.

SleepingStandingUp · 27/10/2021 10:08

The whole Josh/bulimia storyline feels very artificial and manufactured. because they don't have time to build the background of these stories up. It's unlikely he had bulemia when he was cast, but in a meeting to show the stress on the Dad they had to decide how. Drugs is too overused. Self harming as in cutting, done before recently. ED covers a wide spectrum, good plan. No use making him anorexic, you'll just not see him eating. Bulemia is more visual. Let's give him bulemia. Mom can pop in and mention he had it as a kid for background. And given he hasn't suffered with it for years, a relapse presumably would be this sudden rather than needing lots of additional context than delivering his prem twins ina bomb site, lots of work pressure etc.

Optimist1 · 27/10/2021 10:35

Can someone explain who exactly the man in the cupboard with HH is? Why was he acting as intermediary to get Ollie back into being a surgeon?

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 10:56

He is a consultant from Somewhere Else who has been mentoring/treating Ollie back to being fit to be a doctor. He knows Henrik from Before.

TrashyPanda · 27/10/2021 11:41

We have been watching the reruns of Holby, where Ollie had a long storyline about being rather crap (and an habitual liar, who had buggered up his sisters life by switching their scores in an exam, causing her to fail the year). Then suddenly, he wasn’t a crap doctor. Just like that. More than a little bit unrealistic.

He did keep on lying though, trying to pass off his dead wife’s work as his own.

SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 11:54

Yes, I've just read up on him on Wiki - he was a shit doctor!

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 27/10/2021 12:28

I don't like Ollie (not sure I ever did). His sister was lovely though.

I loved HH doing his top five Grime albums!

SoupDragon · 27/10/2021 12:53

"But you know I like music..." 😂

spiderlight · 27/10/2021 15:07

HH listening to Grime is a wonderful image 😁

Optimist1 · 27/10/2021 16:30

Thanks, @SoupDragon.

I well remember Ollie's early years, @TrashyPanda, and that almost instant transformation from underhand student to Holby's blue-eyed boy always struck me as being beyond belief.

Yes to benefit Ollie but why? I must have missed something..I dont even know who the old guy is? I'm losing the plot obviously 😉
cittigirl · 27/10/2021 17:19

I've now read the other posts. Can't say I'm truly enlightened. What a way to bring Holby to an end 😔

TrashyPanda · 27/10/2021 17:33

It wasn’t the best episode, but HH naming his favourite grime albums was a wonderful touch.
HH is one of the best characters ever.

Never thought i would hear the words Stormzy leaving HH's mouth, i had to rewind to make sure i heard right
MyOtherProfile · 02/11/2021 20:31

What was Oliver's last sentence about? Was it a link to next week or did I miss something?

SoupDragon · 02/11/2021 20:39

@MyOtherProfile

I think it's a reference to something that happened to Ollie between leaving Holby and now. Sounds like he did something in surgery that killed someone.
MyOtherProfile · 02/11/2021 22:59

Oh I thought he was accusing that bloke who hangs around HH of lying about something?

TrashyPanda · 02/11/2021 23:33

Have the twins been discharged from hospital?

Or has Ange just got bored of them?

MyOtherProfile · 03/11/2021 06:08

Her phone rang and caller ID said Fran (nanny) so looks like they're home.

SoupDragon · 03/11/2021 07:12

@MyOtherProfile

He did - retired consultant guy is lying insofar as he's deliberately not told HH about the "incident"
SleepingStandingUp · 03/11/2021 20:50

@TrashyPanda

Have the twins been discharged from hospital?

Or has Ange just got bored of them?

Yeah they were what, 30 weekers and they're now a few months old. I find it highly unlikely they'd have been discharged this quickly but even more unlikely she'd have gone back literally as they were discharged. They didn't go home with any feeding tubes or oxygen? No constant check ups at the local hospital? Just dumped on a Nanny for most of the day
