New thread for us to discuss all things Holby.

@SoupDragon, it makes me realise that I don't really concentrate on watching Holby City these days (very telling).

spiderlight · 07/10/2021 09:56

Are we supposed to remember that F1? I don't at all.

Optimist1 · 07/10/2021 10:54

No, I don't remember her, either. She must have continued her training elsewhere, as she asked Jac to address her as doctor (unless, of course she got a PhD, but I really don't care enough to think about it).

She said she'd moved into academia because of Jac

MyPatronusIsAPenguin · 07/10/2021 12:42

I've just looked at the credits. Character played by Eloise Black. No previous episodes listed on imdb which makes me wonder if we haven't seen the last of her. Odd to bring a character in as a one off of a programme that's been axed. I found her acting very wooden

EmotionalSupportBear · 07/10/2021 13:44

i spent the episode wanting to smack Donna.. poor Fletch didn't know, and Donna is making it ALL about her. grr.

Also odd to bring her in and pretend she's been in it before!
cittigirl · 12/10/2021 20:28

What a bizarre episode that was. A random surgeon allowed in theatre is just one strange thing.

A fire in the car park.....yeah right!

Who else thinks the horrible mental health nurse is Luckys younger self? No one seemed to acknowledge her anyway.

cittigirl · 12/10/2021 20:30

and now Valentine Is back. Stranger and stranger!

Optimist1 · 12/10/2021 22:42

I was surprised they didn't suggest Jac and Eli's pioneering new procedure as a cure for Lucky - it seemed to be a bit of a wonder, being potentially a treatment for Carol's dementia and Jac's tumour and whatever the guineapig patient in USA suffered from.

DontWantTheRivalry · 13/10/2021 07:43

I also thought the mental health
Nurse was just Lucky a figment of lucky’s imagination - she was most likely hallucinating from the pain relief.

I’ve hated Donna over the last two episodes - I loved the way Mia eventually stood up to her by saying that the events had happened to her, not Donna, and they Donna was stopping her from taking to the one person who could actually understand (Evie). And she’s been horrible to fletch during the last two episodes Sad

And poor Josh having the panic attack in the NICU Sad

SoupDragon · 13/10/2021 07:57

Nurse was just Lucky, I agree. I think they missed a trick at the end when she walked behind Max who was talking to Lucky - she could easily have disappeared and not come out the other side of Max. The perspective and heights were perfect!

What they need is the exceptionally dodgy and unethical spinal graft thing to come back and save Lucky. I can't even remember which consultant was responsible for that.

SoupDragon · 13/10/2021 07:59

I think Donna has hated herself TBH. She feels responsible for not noticing there was anything wrong and has been deflecting the blame onto everyone else in defence. Hopefully the fully compliant with H&S bonfire in the car park has sorted that.

Yes, that makes sense - and would also explain her surprised (almost dismayed) reaction to Fletch telling her he has applied for a transfer.
burblish · 14/10/2021 09:41

I loved Henrik’s reaction to seeing Ollie - I wonder whether we will see Zosia at any point? I guess we will find out next week whether Ollie and Zosia are still together. Nice to have Henrik also mention Tara Lo and Arthur Digby - I suppose we may have other previous characters names dropped into conversations in the last few months before it all ends.

SoupDragon · 14/10/2021 11:04

Ollie and Zosia had an off screen baby together didn't they?

DontWantTheRivalry · 14/10/2021 11:23

Yes Ollie and Zosia had a baby together - I would love it if she reappeared. I loved her character and her voice Grin

spiderlight · 14/10/2021 12:08

Lucky herself seems to have recognised that the horrible nurse was an opiate-induced hallucination, so hopefully she'll go poof and leave her alone now that her meds have been changed. Looks like we're going to have an assisted suicide moral dilemma storyline for Max though.

The spinal stem cell guy was John Gaskell (Paul McGann), but I seem to remember that he went bonkers and then killed himself, so he probably won't be back!

MyPatronusIsAPenguin · 14/10/2021 12:46

Did we actually see him kill himself though?! Wasn't he by a lake and then gone in the next shot so we didn't actually have any definite proof he'd done it?

SoupDragon · 14/10/2021 12:55

I can't remember what actually happened to him either. The lake rings a bell but I can't recall whether they found a body - surely they'd have found it in lake?

I’m sure we saw a body. Henrik talked to it. (I think.)
SoupDragon · 14/10/2021 13:59

Yes... when he was laid out in the mortuary wasn't it? Or am I imagining that?

MyPatronusIsAPenguin · 14/10/2021 14:17

A bit of Googling tells me I am wrong and there was a body. I stand corrected Grin

TooBigForMyBoots · 19/10/2021 19:57

They've just given up having actual patients now, haven't they?Sad

MyOtherProfile · 19/10/2021 20:37

Yes. And oh look, it's been so long since we had a doctor abusing pills...
