Why would Canada send Serena back to Gilead? They want to prosecute her for war crimes.

The wife and son managed to get out the country but they got separated from Emily at the border. I remember this clearly because it was broadcast at the same time Trump was separating families at the the USA/Mexican border

Wasn’t there a scene in s1 with her and them at the airport? They got through Gilead security and she didn’t.

Yes and because Gilead doesn't recognise same sex marriages, Emily wasnt classed as a citizen by marriage because her marriage was automatically nullified. So she couldn't get into Canada

Yes, they were Canadian citizens so they got through the borders without Emily

I don't recall Serena being cozy with any other men. But yes a bit odd that June questioned the paternity - and also called Fred "The Commander" - she's still a handmaid in spirit

I'm pretty sure Serena conceived the baby when she and Fred slept together at the hone of an Econo family while they were on their drive. I can't remember where Fred thought they were going but Serena knew they were heading into Canada.

Yes, Gilead hadjust taken control and everything was changing, quickly. They thought they'd be able to flee together but then were told that their marriage was not recognised by Gilead so Emily had to go to a waiting room thinking it was sortable, then they were separated when the wife and chi.d had to take the flight.

The only man she could have slept with in the timeframe is Tuello. I do think it's possible he's the father but the show seems to be assuming it's Fred.

Nick would be my guess. She was fairly certain he was fertile after June and Nicole and knew it wasn't from the commander!
