I loved Lendl Grin. His grumpiness was part of his charm. Djok is just rude, charmless, graceless and arrogant.

In my opinion. Grin.

ScienceSensibility · 30/06/2021 18:56

Raahh I’m sure you are right, that the 50% relates to total attendance, not just any individual court.
(I may or may not have made that very point to my partner yesterday....)

This lovely thread is also reminding me of how my mother used to close the kitchen down for the fortnight of Wimbledon. As kids we thought it was great foraging for weird and wonderful concoctions of cold food.😀

WellTidy · 30/06/2021 18:56

I find him enormously arrogant Marsha - can only speak for myself though!

PrivateSpidey · 30/06/2021 18:57

Raahh yum re the gooseberries Grin I haven't seen any so far this season.

Fizzywinegum · 30/06/2021 18:57

I think that just about sums it up Raahh Grin

Raahh · 30/06/2021 18:58

Science it's funny how many of us had the same 'Wimbledon fortnight' experience. Grin.

I am happy to continue the tradition Grin

Raahh · 30/06/2021 19:00

Private I was planning to visit my mother tomorrow anyway, but I think the gooseberries might sway it. Grin. She likes them very sour. She has always complained the shops always sell squishy ones (when you can find them).

Fizzywinegum · 30/06/2021 19:02

Andy having a fairly easy time of it (for now!

the80sweregreat · 30/06/2021 19:04

Getting his moneys worth out the new hip !

Raahh · 30/06/2021 19:04

Bit of channel hopping....

Muguruza is doing well, I'm glad to see.

Rublev/Harris has just started. I've seen Harris play a lot lately, for some reason.

Kenin in a bit of bother, against Brengle, who is wearing very odd leggings.

SunSeaSurfGin · 30/06/2021 19:08

My Dm commented the other day that cc is not exactly social distanced

What's wrong with djork

Gone to make tea and soak up some sun, did Otte get the correct dude shorts in the end? It's on in the background

Fizzywinegum · 30/06/2021 19:08

My grandparents had a gooseberry bush in their garden - we used to call them goosegogs for some reason!

I’ve not had any for years - I’ll have to hunt some down

SunSeaSurfGin · 30/06/2021 19:09

Sized shorts not dude shorts

MarshaBradyo · 30/06/2021 19:09

We had a gooseberry bush and rhubarb plus other fruit and veg

I can still remember that summer sharp taste riding on bikes with rhubarb

Raahh · 30/06/2021 19:11

goosegogs so did we. Grin

We had a gooseberry bush. It always looked half dead, but then would mysteriously perk up.

Fizzywinegum · 30/06/2021 19:12

I wasn’t sure what was happening with Ottes shorts Sun - they look a bit baggy

The menfolk are wanting to watch a double bill of Tour de France - I’m thinking of leaving home Hmm

Fizzywinegum · 30/06/2021 19:14

Rhubarb dipped in sugar! Kids don’t know they’re born these days Grin

Jellykat · 30/06/2021 19:23

Can anyone enlighten me as to why the audience are not mask wearing, but some of the staff are?

GrouchyKiwi · 30/06/2021 19:24

Otte's gone up a gear in this game.

GrouchyKiwi · 30/06/2021 19:25

Oops Andy.

Raahh · 30/06/2021 19:32

Jelly I'm not sure- but maybe it's because they will move around the grounds more? The spectators may be confined to 'one' area.
But I could be making it up. Grin They might just feel safer.

the80sweregreat · 30/06/2021 19:33

I think Otte will win this match .

kazzaD66 · 30/06/2021 19:35

I don't know why the Wimbledon staff wear masks but spectators don't have to because it is a Government covid test event. No masks, no social distancing.

Hate gooseberries, love rhubarb Grin

Jellykat · 30/06/2021 19:35

Hmm guess that kinda makes sense Raah, thank you..

kazzaD66 · 30/06/2021 19:36

Sorry, spectators have to wear masks moving around but can remove them when seated.
