I want Fizz NewMan to be great, they fall madly in love, Gran loves him, they flaunt their happiness to Tyrone and Alina, and Ty is eaten up with jealousy and Alina gets more irritating by the minute.

Are they setting Tyrone up for an alcohol problem? He was really mean last night. Also- has he spent all his money on Alina and baby and new clothes? And now skint? How will he pay fizz child support??

I hope not. This is absolutely typical of Ty though. Petty, mean, poor impulse control and with the IQ of a goldfish. I want Fizz to just ditch men and live her own life.

Hopefully Alina will have her eyes opened and realise he isn’t such a catch after all. Why did she ever think he was??? 😂

Years ago different characters had their own personality and the characters stood out
Now they are all just diluted to fit the story line

Yes looks like if new man not a psychopath Fizz will live happily ever after. Ty will be on level sofa and paying CM all over the street.

Agree about the DV. And he and Alina must have racked up massive credit card debt by now. So - time for Ty to come crying home and strong women Fizz/Evelyn sort his life out for him. That would be very Corrie.

So agree with this. Years ago their personalities stood firm whatever the storyline. Now... not.
How many times on this thread have we posted our incredulity at what one of them is doing because it is so out of character.... endlessly.

It seems to me they are just coming up with random storylines and trying to fit the characters round them... impossible. Instead of writing the stories for the actual characters.
The only one who has stayed true to character is Roy as far as I'm concerned.
But dread saying that, he'll probably now turn into a stalker/alcoholic/abuser or something

Current Steve is a totally different person from what he is in classic Corrie. He was a total asshole back then. Now he is soft as butter and apparently quite dim too which he never was before.

I always thought Tyrone was a pretty good actor, but that sneering silly grimacing and shouting in the bistro row looked ridiculous.

What happened to blackmail kid after Todd paid him off? Did he do him in?

It looks to me like Ty is suddenly starting to realize that leaving your partner and kids to go off with pretty face Grace isn't quite the lark he thought it'd be.

But even Roy has changed. When he was introduced he was living in a HMO that Deirdre was also living in (during one of her many separations from Ken) and iirc was stalking her?!

I think we are supposed to surmise from the award winning (not) acting and writing that Tyrone is full of regrets, cracking up in a frenzy of alcohol dependency and financial chaos, and close to stalking Fizz out of petty jealousy and emotional avarice, and on the edge of despising Alina.

Unfortunately it was more Panto than Tennessee Williams.
