Just reading this about the improved support contestants will be receiving - counselling sessions and social media support. Love Island: ITV announces new contestant welfare measures

I couldn't get past Faye's lips as she sipped out of the prosecco glass, they were bulging out of the side. DP asked me if kissing someone with lip fillers is like kissing a rubber ring!

I'm a bit sad for Hugo, he seemed very sad that Faye went off with Liam. He does seem like a Nice Boy and a bit out of his depth.

I must admit that this show is SUCH a guilty pleasure of mine now [only started watching 2 series ago] - it's like watching an animal documentary or something lmao.

It must be the editing that cuts out any semblance of personality surely? As they all seem so lacking in chat / flirt / personality and I can't fathom it.

I've never once been on a first date that had such a lack of energy / banter / conversation / spark as the dates that go on in this villa and that's as a very unattractive lard arse person!

Brad seems to have the charisma of a sweaty sock.

I’m surprised they can understand Brad to be honest, I’m from the North East and my accent is nowhere near as strong as his and I have to slow down how I speak to be understood “down south” 🤣

I hope so. I've had a rubbish morning after discovering yet more cat shit in my garden, so I want a zero tolerance approach to my reality shows this summer. No partner = dumped from the island.

They need to go back to basics and leave the contestants to get on with it a bit, I think that’s why this year there’s not many funny people as they all rely on the producers stepping in and setting up “scenes”

Agree, one bit last night was so clunky the only explanation was that they were told to go and talk for a while, and were cutting it off when they'd fine enough.

There doesn't even seem to be any spontaneous hanging round. I hope that's a factor of it being only a few days in. So right now the 'scripting' shows, because it's creating situations, rather than augmenting what's already happening.

That's why the smoking area was so good before. It was spontaneous chat with whoever was having a fag at any given time.

I understand why they've binned it, but equally it's a show for adults isn't it? Watching people smoke won't make me start again.

I feel like they're aiming LI towards teens these days. Yawn.

Brad has a strong Northumbrian accent, it's fairly typical. But his conversation is one-sided and very dull - classic example of how you need the personality just as much as the looks. No point being with someone who is incapable of talking about anything other themselves...

Liking Liam so far! I do love the welsh accent, and him being so tall with a nice face doesn't hurt either Grin

I agree it’s very dull so far and most of the contestants are really boring or just aren’t being shown enough. I’m optimistic things will pick up as more established couples form and others come and go.

PP who said Chloe talks like Beatrice and eugenie in the Windsors is spot on 😂

Jake is so unlikeable! I have no idea what Liberty sees in him. When he farted straight after they kissed Envy and always seems to be talking about sex, was cringey when he asked her if she was having ‘fanny flutters’, he just comes across really seedy/pervy as well as having a fragile ego and not being able to take a joke

I know it's called Love Island but the early ice breaker games being more silly fun, less cringy snogging might bring the contestants out of themselves more.

Yeah I though the same. This is actually a classic controller move. Act in a really anti-social way and see if she will accept it.

Don’t like Jake at all. He was so pleased with himself that Liberty said he made her nervous. But he didn’t say anything nice to her back. And he was rubbing his hands with glee when the new boys came in - saying he loves the tension. He’s a shit stirrer.
