I'm staying well out of the football. I'm just glad I'm not on the tube this evening Grin

Fizzywinegum · 18/06/2021 18:22

I think Matteo is my new favourite Wink (DH has just called me an old perv!)

Very diplomatic about the football - everyone is going out to watch the match so I’m home alone (although I think I’m taxi service - they can all find their own way home though!)

I’m really not interested in the football!

Is John wearing red shoes?

JaneJeffer · 18/06/2021 18:24

Berrettini looks like a boy I used to sit next to in primary school. The teacher moved us apart because we were always yakking. I didn't take any notice of how good looking he was until we started secondary and loads of the girls fancied him.

kazzaD66 · 18/06/2021 18:25

Yes, I wondered about John's shoes Confused

Oh poor Cam isn't English enough Grin

Raahh · 18/06/2021 18:28

Jane - no, off to the red button for Cam and Jack Grin

JaneJeffer · 18/06/2021 18:31

This is a really cool photo of Jack. He looks like someone out of an Evelyn Waugh novel.

Raahh · 18/06/2021 18:34

The annoying thing is, whilst the foot balll is on, there is really nothing else on the 'other' sides- and I have caught up with everything I had recorded.

It's at this point I end up watching repeats of Poirot or something equally random, just for something to do Grin.

Raahh · 18/06/2021 18:35

Jack wow. He really does.

Cam always looks like a cross Tom Cruise.

JaneJeffer · 18/06/2021 18:36

I will never be caught up with everything I have recorded Grin

Raahh · 18/06/2021 18:38

Jane to be honest, I think I went through the series link thing, and deleted a bunch of stuff that I realised I would never watch. It was in danger of filling up.

Grin
Raahh · 18/06/2021 18:43

I think Cilic is about to go out Sad

Raahh · 18/06/2021 18:44

Well done Alex- at least Marin has had some wins on grass going into Wimbledon, which is something.

kazzaD66 · 18/06/2021 19:19

Well done raahh
I still have programmes recorded from 2012 that I haven't watched Confused

Grin

I do keep things for a very long time. I then realised it was recording all sorts of things- and filling up rapidly.

No-one else really bothers with the tv- so it really is mostly my rubbish recorded on there. Like 10 series of Doctors. Blush And films I think I might watch- even though i've seen them several times before- and they are available on Netflix or Prime anyway, so I don't need to record them.

Raahh · 18/06/2021 20:00

Well done Jack- he's had a good week.

And well done to Cam.

Better get in, it's raining. Grin.

Raahh · 18/06/2021 20:07

Yes, very good timing.

PrivateSpidey · 19/06/2021 09:45

I see Goffin is out of Wimbledon - another one of my favourites Sad

I'm starting to think Berrettini could have a good chance there as well - as you said Raahh, maybe not win it, but definitely challenge. Hmm. I don't know who else though.

Hope they get better weather at Queen's today.

Raahh · 19/06/2021 09:59

Poor Goffin- he hasn't had a great season- they are dropping like flies. Sad.

I don't know what the weather is like at Queen's but I am surprised- with matches to finish (and players in both singles and doubles) they aren't starting til 12 noon. You would think they would want to maximise time.

Ds has just been for his first vaccine- it was only around the corner, and all done and dusted(including the 15 minute wait afterwards) in half an hour!
And he has a sticker Grin.

Raahh · 19/06/2021 10:03

And it's hard to know who the main challengers on grass will be- it has been so long- and there are few unknown quantities really.

I suppose you can't count out players like Dimitrov to do well ( on a good day) , and Raonic was always good on grass- not sure where he's up to injury wise.
At least this year we will be spared the annual 'Nadal/Kyrgios match'- where the commentators act like it's gladiatorial combat, and are desperate for Rafa to lose.

PrivateSpidey · 19/06/2021 10:59

I was wondering about Raonic as well. He wasn't at Queen's was he? Hopefully he can play Wimbledon, but I suppose he might not have many matches under his belt this season. Although a lot of experience on grass probably cancels that out? I'd love to see him go on a good run there again.

Dimitrov, yes definitely, if he's on form as you said. Shapovalov could do well maybe?

Raahh · 19/06/2021 11:35

Shapovalov has been doing well this week- so he could be one who might cause a few upsets.

There are the 'journeymen' as well, who are always there- like Kohlshreiber- who has suffered from meeting big names early on, but is actually not bad on grass.

I am watching Rublev in Halle- and he is doing very well this week- he's proving to be a pretty good all- rounder.

And then there's Karatsev- he's come from nowhere and is doing ok.

It won't stop the commentators fixating on the same players- but I do think this could be the year we do see a more open competition for the men.

Raahh · 19/06/2021 11:38

Basilashvili is really struggling- not sure if it is his leg -or he is suffering with the heat. He looks completely out of it.

Raahh · 19/06/2021 12:16

Oh- he's feeling better this set, Basilashvili! Must have been a magic massage. Grin

Raahh · 19/06/2021 13:01

I saw there was a doubles match at Queen's - good to see Mahut and PHH in that.

Rublev has got back into this match now, and is serving for the match. He's getting a bit cross though Grin
