Do you mean Sergey Lazarev? (Fun Fact alert Wink) He's just done the Russian version of All Together Now (that thing with Ginger Spice) and Michael Rice (UK 2019 - Bigger than us) competed in it as he won the UK one. He made it to the final but didn't win.
Yes. That'd be the Shower Guy.

SHIT! You've all reminded me.

I need to make sure we have Blue Curaçao in now! I fear we may need a new bottle.

I think I'm now prepared to stick my neck out and say the winner will have French Lyrics in the song. (I think I'm torn between France and Switzerland at this point)

This is my Eurovision Bingo Card / Drinking Game for tomorrow:

Drink 1 finger:
Sequined Underwear
Traditional Costume
80s Special Effects
4 Male Backing Dancers
Knee High (or higher) Boots
Men with Long Hair
Every Third Time Flo-Rider is mentioned.

Down your drink:
The UK get 12 points from a single country

Anyway, after my Rotterdam disappointment (I was supposed to go last year) my friends have said tonight we should go next year... I am now hoping its not Malta who win cos I don't fancy that!

WeAreTheHeroes · 22/05/2021 06:45

Ah - blue curacao. Takes me right back to Saturday nights out at 18. That and Tia Maria.

the80sweregreat · 22/05/2021 10:33

Rylans A to Z of Eurovision was good last night.
Only caught half hour of it , but it was funny.

RaraRachael · 22/05/2021 11:13

the80sweregreat was that a new programme or a repeat of one that's been on before?

JaquelineBeanstalk · 22/05/2021 11:22

Here’s my bingo card:
Sparkly silver sequins
Oversized footwear
Not in English
Pyrotechnics
Mention of Australia
Angels/ demons
Rapping
Hairography
Giant props
Someone gives the UK -12- any points

Snacks include Belgian chocs, Dutch strop waffles and some Gouda on sticks, Spanish olives, Italian wine and french bread. Couldn’t find any putrid shark for Iceland.

Re: Rylan Eurovision show
I'm not sure if it was a new programme or not : it was on bbc four last night.
It Might have been a repeat ? You could look for it on I player maybe?

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 22/05/2021 12:06

I'm very excited Smile I've just been invited round to a friends to watch it (INDOORS!! woohoo!) So kebabs, cider and scorecards all round. DH tolerates it for my sake (although he still votes) and DD (who has been brought up to be pro-eurovision) is away at uni so I was planning on watching it in bed whilst whatsapping her.

Happy Eurovision Day everybody! Grin

Twizbe · 22/05/2021 12:48

I have my Eurovision 2020 hoody on ready for later.

I can't wait, love this contest. Going to spend the afternoon trying to convert the kids. The 4 year old is quite into it. The 2 year old screams every time I put a Eurovision song on 😢

What take away should I get for tonight?

StopTryingToSellMeYourBollocks · 22/05/2021 13:00

Surely it should be down your drink when the UK doesn't get any points. None of us will manage to get drunk if it's the opposite. Grin

Spekoppar · 22/05/2021 13:11

I knew there had to be a Eurovision thread somewhere!
I’ve always loved Eurovision, but this year it seems more exciting having skipped a year. My favourite is Iceland, think my money would be on Ukraine or Malta though.

RaraRachael · 22/05/2021 13:21

Very excited my son and I can actually meet up in my house and watch it together - curry, booze, snacks, Eurovision SORTED Grin

On Radio 2 now is a countdown of listeners' favourite 50 Eurovision songs. I can't believe anyone voted for Skooch

RedToothBrush · 22/05/2021 13:28

adriankavanagh.com/2017/05/12/the-eurovision-song-contest-final-the-luck-of-the-draw-or-the-running-order/

Who got the best draw?

Italy, France, Switzerland, Iceland and Lithuania got some of the best slots.

The UK got one of the worst. Don't expect a good night for us.

RedToothBrush · 22/05/2021 13:29

Malta's draw isn't good for them.

the80sweregreat · 22/05/2021 13:46

I think Iceland might do it this year ( or Finland)

EmphaticPeriod · 22/05/2021 14:10

The radio 2 top 50 is a crock of shit - no idea whether it was down to having to choose 15 songs or not - but that it is skewed to having 18/50 tracks as UK entries is ridiculous. They did one in 2015 which seemed a lot more balanced.

EmphaticPeriod · 22/05/2021 14:17

last time we did this - 2015 - top 40
www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/1ZgkRss4l6CJqnTjzyhgPNY/eurovision-your-favourite-40

there are a lot of repeats to be fair but it seems a bit more diverse...

EmphaticPeriod · 22/05/2021 14:37

www.missioneurovision.co.uk/games/eurovision-bingo/

bingo cards above

(there's also a cool online one although I will be amazed if it holds up. The winking at the camera was a surefire until Poland didn't get through - bah! Wink)

apilaud · 22/05/2021 14:58

I'm really looking forward to it! I'm glad there will be an audience as well, it'll be lovely finally seeing that. DH takes the piss that I love Eurovision but it's my guilty pleasure.

Having a takeaway and some wine tonight. Haven't listened to the songs yet so am going in blind.

JaquelineSequinWindmachine · 22/05/2021 15:01

Popping by to give a twirl in my special username.

My SN stepson says Lithuania are his favourite, and tells me they are signing U and V for "Euro Vision".

Forgot to add maltesers to the snack list!

apilaud · 22/05/2021 15:04

Oh, and my 8 year old DS can't wait. Proud mum I am tonight

OldGreyBoots · 22/05/2021 15:34

Does eurovision go on iplayer live? No telly at the moment but would watch it on computer if possible Shock

apilaud · 22/05/2021 15:43

I hope there's no aggro from the audience when Israel perform.

apilaud · 22/05/2021 15:44

I hate when politics etc get into it, it's a song contest.

JaneJeffer · 22/05/2021 15:45

There's always politics. It's Eurovision.
