Also loved the lift scene with the 3 amigos.

Buckells was a good twist because we all assumed he was just incompetent and even felt sorry for him. However, I wish his interview had been a bit more explosive.

Glad the dodgy prison wardens all got arrested.

SwedishEdith · 02/05/2021 22:38

when really he was just a greedy and convenient fool, which is a pity.

I think that's why it was good. A useless and useful idiot being promoted upwards. It was Mercurio's rage at what's happening politically.

tecatea · 02/05/2021 22:39

Secondly ... Lomax ... was his authorization of the prison transfer forged or did he do it?

I wonder, he was ambiguous in his last scene which as you say is exactly what one would expect.

unique1986 · 02/05/2021 22:39

And to think some of you were disappointed with last weeks episode!!
Hahaha that was tripe Oscar worthy compared to this one.

RedToothBrush · 02/05/2021 22:39

So right at the end Chloe who has been carrying Fleming, Arnott and Hastings and finally breaks AC12s shitness and whats been under their noses for years, says something to them right at the end. And lets face it wasn't just "I've broke the photocopier" because that girl is the only one with any brains and integrity in the whole building.

Then the three muppets get in the lift to do their well practiced band pose where they stare into the distance for their publicity shot.

So all I now want to know is what the bloody hell she said to make them do that rather that going "well that was a fucking pile of shite, our careers are all fucked and the police are a complete bag o'shite, lets go for a pint and get bloody hammered. Mate".

Cos if you are wanting realistic, Chloe must have given them some massive clue to prevent them from whinging and desparately needing to drown their sorrows in embarrassing fashion. Cos lets face it, between the 3 of them theres a certain lack of professionalism.

Also is it my imagination or is that a whole season where Steve didn't manage to actually get his leg over and only got as far as a snuggle with Stef?

cliffdiver · 02/05/2021 22:39
@cliffdiver no there weren't, my point was is that what people were expecting hence the ?
Apologies.

Missed your question mark.

Janus · 02/05/2021 22:40

I don’t honestly know how I feel.
Buckels always came across as not being able to organise a piss up in a brewery, are we meant to believe he’s some great mastermind?? So I don’t think he was. He liked the money he got from doing whatever was asked, someone higher up was telling him what to do. Therefore when the reality was right in front of him, Lakewell getting killed, he was genuinely terrified??
From series one episode one we know Osborne is bent/manipulates the truth. Can he really be into organised crime though??
Jo believed Fairbanks was her father. But she did so many bad things, getting people killed along the way like the young lad in the diversion bookies, is she really guilt free?? That beautiful house, girlfriend, dog etc was a little bit unbelievable.
I love the friendship Kate and Steve have.
Is Ted expecting Carmichael to use that information he told her?? Will AC-12 be put back together?
So many questions!!

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 02/05/2021 22:40

Just finished watching. Eeeeek.

lulupooh · 02/05/2021 22:41

The one good thing that came out of that episode was that I finally discovered the correct spelling of definitely (but it still looks wrong 🤔) I am a disappointed donkey.

CheekyWeeShite · 02/05/2021 22:42

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius

Witness protection looks jolly nice - lovely stone cottage, golden retriever and cute girlfriend - sign me up (with a cute bloke instead, please and thank you).

I think there will be another series.

And Vigil looks good too - did anyone recognise the actress who’s playing the investigator being winched onto the sub? I know I have seen her before, but I’ve racked my brain and come up empty. Steve will be glad to get back to using his own accent.

Wasn’t it Suranne Jones? I only half saw the ad and I don’t watch many TV dramas which is what she’s mostly in but I think it was her?
GillBungalow · 02/05/2021 22:42

Matalan Cottage scene was fuckin ridiculous. Were we supposed to care that much about Jo's character that we'd lap up the cheese?

Give us Gill Bungalow climbing the steps to her grim northern council flat to the sound of seagulls any day.

PomLikeTheBattle · 02/05/2021 22:42

Honestly if Jed had used any of the twitter/mn theories, we'd have been moaning how pantomime it was.

Notonthestairs · 02/05/2021 22:42

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius - I think it was Suzanne somebody (Doctor Foster)

unique1986 · 02/05/2021 22:42

Some dodgy acting through this series.
A bit like Covid turned them all amateur.

RedToothBrush · 02/05/2021 22:43

Btw, witness protection looks very tempting, what with cosy cottages and bouncy dogs

In all 6 seasons I think Jo and Terry are the only two who have ever got a 'happy ever after storyline'.

TokyoSushi · 02/05/2021 22:43

It's been 45 minutes now and I'm still sitting here thinking Buckells? Seriously?!

tecatea · 02/05/2021 22:43

Some of the drama and twists of the previous series and episodes.

So what would that have looked like in the finale? Twists are a lot easier when you are not on the last episode.

iklboo · 02/05/2021 22:44

Nope. I think there's more layers than an onion & Buckells is being looked after to take the fall. Hence the smirk when he was locked up. A lot still hasn't been uncovered. The end statements were quite telling.

unique1986 · 02/05/2021 22:44

How did Jo get a girlfriend so quick?

WeeDonkey · 02/05/2021 22:44

Btw, witness protection looks very tempting, what with cosy cottages and bouncy dogs.

That dog was trying its hardest to take Jo out.

TwoDrifters2 · 02/05/2021 22:44

@eternalopt

"No one makes mugs of ac12"

Someone better tell Etsy 😂😂

This made me choke on my wine Grin

Excellent comment @eternalopt 👏🏻

SoupDragon · 02/05/2021 22:44

@MinecraftMother

This.
That sums it up completely!
myfuckingfreezer · 02/05/2021 22:44

@PomLikeTheBattle

Why did Kate have an occ health appointment?
Trauma in the line of duty
tecatea · 02/05/2021 22:44

@cliffdiver 👍🏼

eternalopt · 02/05/2021 22:44

Series 1 finale - Hunter is arrested and shocking ending as gates walks into traffic

Series 2 finale - big reveal through flashbacks as to what Lindsey Denton actually did. Cottan, who we now know is the caddy, is recruited to ac 12

Series 3 finale - that episode!! Arnott arrested but Cottan finally outed. An armed raid of ac12 to save him. Kate running after cars all over the city and Cottan's dying declaration!!

Series 4 finale - the brilliant interview of Roz Huntley where she turns to tables and arrests her own solicitor during her ac 12 interview and outs lakewell

Series 5 finale - 90 mins of tension - Hastings interview with Carmichael, the reveal of fill biggeloe, the attempt on her life in the bogs afterwards proper gripping.

Line up those finales against tonight's and you can understand why expectations were so high. Wanted so much more that a "huh" ending!!
