Well the one thing I’m taking away is that Jed is losing his touch. Did he do Bloodlands as well - that was rubbish too.

Parkmama · 02/05/2021 22:34

@EsmaCannonball

Davidson has been doomed to live in an eternal Matalan Autumn/Winter advert. That cottage looked lovely but Denise van Outen lives next door and she's always popping in for coffee.

@Newgirls

I like that Jo wasn’t bent. Made it different from other series when the guest is always bent.

Felt quite real without mass shoutouts and any deaths. Which is more the point I think? That corruption is sometimes a bit more subtle?!

Surely she was the most bent?? Wasn't she inserted into the police by the OCG from the start? Compared to the rest, who'd been corrupted by a specific event/situation and the viewer watched the drama unfold for them. I thought she was pointless.

TonTonMacoute · 02/05/2021 22:35

This was definitely (or should that be definately) one series too many. They're just making it up as they go along now.

It's become a parody of itself. People will watch whatever crap they put out under the LoD name.

Just silly!

30not13 · 02/05/2021 22:35

It's like Dexter ending all over again:(

tecatea · 02/05/2021 22:35

IMHO Ted fessed up at the end so that he would add to the ‘institutionalized corruption’ line he has been trying to prove. He implicated himself so that Carmichael could not continue to ignore it. At risk to his own career ...

That's what I thought, he told her to make her complicit. If she acts she damages the top line about no corruption & potentially opens everything up since it goes to the top is AC 12, if she doesn't &
later it comes out proves corruption.

eekbumbler · 02/05/2021 22:36

Truly truly gutted. Disappointed in you Jed.

But her nice jumper was real wool right?

At least give us that?????

NoProblem123 · 02/05/2021 22:36

@diddl

Wish you’d written this episode 😂😂😂

unique1986 · 02/05/2021 22:36

@AC12theletterofthelaw

Totally agree. It was very quiet episode.
I missed Carmichael and she hardly said anything.
Would have liked a jo and kate scene maybe.
It was weak as a top rated crime drama episode.

Alwaysconfuddled · 02/05/2021 22:36

Not sure how I feel about the ending 🤔

I get that the ending was about having the team back together in a way and feeling all sentimental but overall it was as if Jed wrote the first bit then said to someone else you finish it off. It was going well up to the interview and I was expecting a revelation but nope. Don't get me wrong, I wasn’t expecting car chases and gun fights but also wasn’t excepting the sentimental soppy ending like American series have

Beepbeeprichie · 02/05/2021 22:36

The other problem was the moments of pure fromage. The loft scene. The pub chat. Jo and her Boden catalogue plus matching autumnal girlfriend. Totally cringeworthy.

tiredanddangerous · 02/05/2021 22:36

Utter crap. I am so disappointed with that ending. I feel like they decided they'd better not tie it up properly in case they decide to do another series. I was expecting a brilliant episode and it was the worst one out of all of them.

colouringindoors · 02/05/2021 22:36

The people who were disappointed what
ending did you expect?

Some of the drama and twists of the previous series and episodes.

ContinuousMonotoneBeep · 02/05/2021 22:36

One thing that waa definate, going by the cottage, Jo is in Witness Protection as Beatrix Potter.

User657849 · 02/05/2021 22:36

@CheekyWeeShite, I agree, I would welcome season 7 to be an exciting case like the early seasons and forget about the OCG.

BronwenFrideswide · 02/05/2021 22:37

Completely underwhelmed with that, a very damp squib. It was ratcheting up to be a big reveal and fell totally flat. Not impressed.

eekbumbler · 02/05/2021 22:37

@30not13

It's like Dexter ending all over again:(
That was my first thought. He's done a Dexter on me! I really do feel so let down.
picklewick · 02/05/2021 22:37

There were so many unanswered questions and apparently pointless scenes.

  1. What was the point in the OH scene with Steve saying he was getting firearms taken away etc if for the rest of the episode nothing happened with it.
  2. What was the point in the Jimmy Lakewell scene where he clearly said something to Steve that we are never told about.
  3. No end scenes of what the golden trio were up to now?
  4. The whole who signed off the prison move for Jo? No one thought to talk to Chris?
  5. Buckles clearly said he wasn't top dog, then Ted just finished the interview?
  6. Kate was never interviewed for running and her connection with Ryan's death (even if justified)
  7. Ted omitted to leaking info but apparently we don't need to know about that
  8. Why did Kate see OH at the end?

There's more but it's making me mad writing it all down!!!!

tecatea · 02/05/2021 22:37

@cliffdiver no there weren't, my point was is that what people were expecting hence the ?

motherofgodhaudyerwheesht · 02/05/2021 22:37

@JaniieJones

'people have built this up way too much this season.'

Yes but all the episodes have been compelling and the suspense has been building. This we had a disinterested Carmichael almost being pleasant and a fairly boring interview scene.

No tension, no surprises it was dull af.

you werent worrying what was in the box? or tense at Jo's removal from the prison? And the intercept? The suspense when we didnt know who was in the frame and they eked out who was being interviewed?

Crikey. Or rather, Mother of God.

Its90minutestonight · 02/05/2021 22:37

Seriously disappointed.

lolacola77 · 02/05/2021 22:37

I'm devastated. It was possibly the most boring LoD episode out of the whole lot. Crap.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 02/05/2021 22:38

Witness protection looks jolly nice - lovely stone cottage, golden retriever and cute girlfriend - sign me up (with a cute bloke instead, please and thank you).

I think there will be another series.

And Vigil looks good too - did anyone recognise the actress who’s playing the investigator being winched onto the sub? I know I have seen her before, but I’ve racked my brain and come up empty. Steve will be glad to get back to using his own accent.

PomLikeTheBattle · 02/05/2021 22:38

Why did Kate have an occ health appointment?
