Thanks @PrincessScarlett

Can't believe he's moved back in already! Summers head must be spinning. I knew he was meddling, but I missed them getting together again.

eddiemairswife · 14/05/2021 22:02

Roy may have brought Nina her favourite dress, but I hope he remembered some clean knickers.
I find Sam Extremely irritating.
What does Daniel do nowadays?

MyCatEatsPrawnCrackers · 14/05/2021 22:04

I love Sam.

RJnomore1 · 14/05/2021 22:20

I think sams a little know it all arse.

Viviennemary · 14/05/2021 22:28

I liked Sam at first. Now I'm finding him an irritating pain in the neck. Its being overdone and its just silly annoying and boring.

nildesparandum · 14/05/2021 22:44

I find Sam very annoying.
Also tonight in the Rovers there was Gemma standing behind the bar in her silly mask giving advice on baby care!.Her quads ''upstairs'' as usual while she does shifts in the Rovers and socialises as if she was completely child free.

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 14/05/2021 22:51

How cute would the quads be at this point! How old even are they now??

Apparently they were born on 30th October 2019 so that makes them... what... 19 months?

But knowing that weird rapid aging thing that happens in soap land they're probably off at Uni already.

RubyFowler · 14/05/2021 22:55

@HarebrightCedarmoon

Doesn't Toyah remember what she was like when she was 15?
I thought that too! She was a proper tearaway. I remember them introducing this new family the Battersby's and her and Learner were a right pair.
RubyFowler · 14/05/2021 22:56

Leanne obviously not Learner

StillCoughingandLaughing · 14/05/2021 23:35

Mollie Gallagher was so good tonight. I really felt for Nina Sad I still feel sorry for Abi though, even though she was so unkind to Nina. She doesn’t know what she’s doing.

I was really glad Toyah had a good at angry trollop woman. She had it coming! I also thought she was right first time she suggested Kelly should be moved to another foster home - it’s ridiculous to suggest she should live across the street from Abi.

I’m afraid I did message my mother tonight to say that if Sam was my child, I’d put him on the wrong bus. She said I was terrible Grin

I must have missed the episode when Daniel applied and got accepted on his PGCE course. Good luck with that Daniel (says one who's been there, done that, and got the 50 hour a week teaching job!)
Holier than thou Toyah - I remember you when you were nicking fags, chasing Spider and dodging school.
Abi's lashing out, poor Nina, grieving for Seb and feeling guilty.
Has Peter been forgotten? Is he still wrapped up in the blanket of doom, wrestling with his 1000 piece jigsaw?

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 15/05/2021 00:22

@Serpenta

A few weeks ago I thought they were laying the groundwork for some kind of inappropriate/creepy relationship between Imran and Kelly.
I thought that too the way he looked at her in the flat was like a love struck puppy, it grossed me out.
ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 15/05/2021 00:35

Leanne and Toyah never bullied and physically attacked people, put naked pictures up of their friends online or took drugs as far as I can remember and they certainly were never prime murder suspects. They nicked from the corner shop, skipped school and were mouthy, Kelly is in a different league to the teenage Battersby girls. I’m watching Classic Corrie and Toyah is in her eco warrior stage with Spider and Emily stuck up a tree, 16 year old Leanne has just married Nick and is working in the cabin, all pretty innocent compared to Kelly!

JemimaTab · 15/05/2021 02:29

Sam is pretty obnoxious. If he thinks it’s OK to put his much older prospective tutor (with a university degree, ergo fairly well qualified I would say) through a test before he deigns to “employ” him, then why does he think he needs a tutor at all. Precocious to the extreme, and not in a “cute” way. What a complete brat. And then saying his mum will be OK with £30 an hour? I bet mum will be delighted with that. And yet we are all expected to think how adorable he is. Nope. However, he definitely has the attitude for private school.

That's exactly what I thought. If he thinks he's cleverer than the tutor he's interviewing then why does he need a tutor at all. Confused

Perfectly good storylines are being overworked now. Last night they managed to damage three of them -

  1. Abi's excruciating grief leading her to blame Nina for Seb's death
  2. Nina accepting the blame and trying to erase her persona
  3. Sam

Isn't there someone overseeing plot development who has the power to call a halt to such excess?

HarebrightCedarmoon · 15/05/2021 08:17

I found the scenes with Sam and Daniel very funny, and also David. £30 odd pound an hour for a tutor is about right anyway, in my experience.

They also didn't have a narcissistic mother (though she was gobby and useless at times) and a murdered father. Though it's a mystery how someone didn't throttle Les Battersby.
Clawdy · 15/05/2021 08:23

I certainly can't imagine Toyah or Leanne laughing as a girl was being beaten up. I lost all sympathy for Kelly after she slapped Nina across the face.

HarebrightCedarmoon · 15/05/2021 08:28

She is insecure and stupid, but also 15, a child, with time to change and she doesn't deserve to be charged with murder.

Leanne and Toyah are still insecure and rather stupid in their 40s.

This is spot on!

I hated Sam at first but then he really grew on me. Last nights was awful though. Overkill. Just let his personality be what it is without making it into a story. Not everything is a story.

Tbf toyah never killed anyone. She was loud and bolshy but not a bully.

UhtredRagnarson · 15/05/2021 08:34

I can’t stand the way Kelly’s mum talks. I know it’s her accent (I think?) but it’s really irritating.

It's a good old Wigan accent.
Roussette · 15/05/2021 08:50

Well... Gemma is very lucky. She's outstayed her welcome because somehow or other the writers have let her stay on in Corrie even with the quads in the wardrobe.
I'm just amazed she's still there! And I notice they don't film in her house anymore because there would be toddlers running around in normal world !
