Tales of Weatherfield continued...

No he would not have said that! Doubt he's heard of either!

I do think the writers should consult us on here more. That was a faux pas for sure, we'd have put them straight

PennyRoyal · 14/05/2021 09:17

@Joysexrennovator

Would Corey really have said "more Open University than Oxbridge"?

I think he might - he would likely repeat insults he'd heard at home from his parents. We've not seen his Mum yet but his Dad doesn't seem a very nice chap!

Kelly's eyebrow - it's a scar. She fell downstairs at a young age and cut her face/head badly. Apparently the scar on her forehead goes across her eye area (forehead scar hidden by makeup).

Clawdy · 14/05/2021 09:26

That Corey Oxbridge comment sounded wrong to me too.

Honeyroar · 14/05/2021 09:52

It sounded like something his dad would say, so I think Corey would be likely to emulate him.

@eggandonion

Or Inkerman Street! Have they been demolished? Didn't Stan Ogden get accused of having a fancy piece in that street when he had his "winnder round" ? Smile

eggandonion · 14/05/2021 12:10

Are there any flats above the CoOp and Costa? Is Freshco closed, Toyah went to the CoOp?

Mollypolly2610 · 14/05/2021 13:12

. Is Sean gone for good

He was. Until you mentioned him. He'll be back now. Grin
JamieLeeCurtains · 14/05/2021 13:47

How old is Corey supposed to be, and what and where is this football he's supposed to play professionally?

He never seems to actually do anything.

Anyway Nina will have Turtle Recall soon and foil Corey's evil plans.

JamieLeeCurtains · 14/05/2021 13:47

Sean can fuck off back to his boxes.

eggandonion · 14/05/2021 14:09

I assume Corey is on the youth squad at Weathy County?
In Ireland being a promising footballer seems to be important in court cases.

PennyRoyal · 14/05/2021 14:41

Wouldn't Cory and James (youngest Bailey) be friends? Don't they both play or train with same team?

StillCoughingandLaughing · 14/05/2021 16:14

I’m catching up on comments from the last few days - I think it’s been very good all week. Sally Carman is shoo-in at the Soap Awards; David Neilson has been excellent too. I actually thought Millie Gibson (Kelly) was good on Monday too, much as I dislike the character. Kelly was obviously genuinely scared.

I’m surprised how many people have criticised Abi for ‘shouting’ at Nina. It’s not like she went in all guns blazing, trying to blame her; she just got more and more frustrated because she desperately wanted Nina to remember. I can’t see many parents reacting differently.

I’m amongst the many struggling to see the point of the Baileys. The producers won’t get rid of them after making a massive deal of introducing the show’s first black nuclear family, but the writers need to make them part of the street. They must have been in the show for two years or more now, but they still feel like outsiders.

I think James is about 22 and a first-teamer now; he wouldn’t have much to do with a youth team player.

Why hasn't Corey been charged? It's absolutely ridiculous that the police has taken his witness statement as gospel.

HarebrightCedarmoon · 14/05/2021 19:46

Yeah it's bollocks.

theresnoonequitelikegrandma · 14/05/2021 19:47

Such a shame that after a brief glimpse of good scriptwriting and fabulous acting, we're here again shaking our collective heads at the absurdity of it all....😢

Honeyroar · 14/05/2021 19:54

That’s a hell of a dress to take her to leave hospital in!

Honeyroar · 14/05/2021 19:55

How lovely to see Nina with her hair down and no make up.

Serpenta · 14/05/2021 19:55

The fact they've introduced a funeral parlour as a permanent set must mean the writers are planning a regular cull!

UhtredRagnarson · 14/05/2021 19:58

Finally a smart decision from toyah!

ChildOfFriday · 14/05/2021 19:59

Surely it's not the norm for primary school kids to come home at lunchtime? We weren't even allowed out at secondary school. But Daniel would apparently be doing David a favour by coming to look after Sam Confused Maybe I missed something.

Glad that the writers have remembered Alison and Jake.

UhtredRagnarson · 14/05/2021 19:59

Poor Nina!! Abby is veering into Leanne territory.

lavenderandwisteria · 14/05/2021 19:59

Why does Coronation Street keep portraying bereaved mothers in such an awful light?

ChildOfFriday · 14/05/2021 19:59

@UhtredRagnarson

Poor Nina!! Abby is veering into Leanne territory.
I just said to DH that they were doing a Leanne on her. I really wish they wouldn't Sad
