Hope you all don’t mind, getting near the end of thread 7, so thought I’d trot this one out!

I can’t see Kate leaving Ryan dead on the floor and driving off. It makes no sense she’d do that, she could get herself arrested for murder.

iklboo · 26/04/2021 11:50

I wonder if Kate was pretending she thought Steve had shopped them / turned on them as she forgave him pretty quickly.

I don't think Steve & Kate do have keys to each other's cars & flats. She went to a locker, opened it & said 'nice one, mate'. I think it's something they arranged for if things went south and they needed a quick out.

MrsElijahMikaelson1 · 26/04/2021 11:52

Osbourne has always been bent right from the start of season one-he hasn’t changed but am not sure if he’s at the top or even OCG-or just someone who will do anything to get to the top-even if that’s cooperating with OCG for his own reasons.🤷‍♀️

ThisIsSimplyBeyond · 26/04/2021 11:52

Chris looked so much like dot that my thought process went:

Oh cool, that guy is back from series 1. No hang on, series one was tony, dot and "tony". Oh it's not dot, of course not, he was the caddy! Oh yeah, it's Chris, the new guy who just is the spit of dot. I remember!

Carmichael has two facial expressions. Smirk & Not Smirk.

Two facial expressions is rather generous of you! Grin

I’m finding the character very tedious. She delivers every single line in the exact same way: over-burdened with impatience, sarcasm, and superiority. It’s a completely one-note performance that teeters on the brink of pantomime villain, and I’m disappointed in the monotonality as I honestly thought AMM had greater range than that.

Contrast her one-dimensional performance with the deftness of Neil Morrissey playing Nige Morton - now THAT’S how you deliver a bad guy that everyone loves to hate!

Even the much less experienced actor playing Ryan managed to demonstrate a more insightful and varied approach to his role.

JaneJeffer · 26/04/2021 11:54

I still don't understand how they can track Steve's private vehicle. At first I thought they had tracked the police car as far as Steve's apartment but in the interview they mentioned the vehicle at the scene where they were arrested.

I think Kate was putting on an act for Jo's benefit.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/04/2021 11:55

Oh, thank Christ! You're here.

PhillipPhillop · 26/04/2021 11:57

Can't make up my mind about Carmichael. She looked shocked in the lorry park, maybe expecting the body to be Kate or Jo.
The only reason I can think why she took Steve's private phone off him was to let Kate know something eg a signal if they are both undercover.
Still not sure how they cottoned on that Kate and Jo were in Steve's tracked car. The pair could just have easily gone to Steve's flat. And Carmichael was trying to get out of the office surreptitiously after it was called in. Why? Lucky Steve was watching!

I can’t make any sense of it at all, it’s bizarre. I don’t know if we’re supposed to be confused at the moment (and something else will be revealed next week that makes sense of it), or what.

I heard an interview with Jed at the start of the series that said they were still working on the final episodes so maybe the edit has been rushed and they’ve just not explained it very well.

Carmichael said that she and the Chief didn't trust AC12, so presumably they had got warrants to track based on that - exactly what grounds they gave remains a mystery.

I think what is under the floor is going to be a turning point. I can't think! We've run out of missing people so far as I can remember. Someone we don't realise is missing/think is dead presumably. Thirlwell if it's not him in Spain? Jo's mum, dead more recently? Hunter's son?

CHISistoast · 26/04/2021 11:59

I couldn't post this on the other thread as was full but...
The Spanish Guardia Civil (Señor Eyebrows) sounds pretty Spanish to me. He didn't say "Està muerto ", he said: "Dos muertos, un hombre y una mujer".
Sorry if covered, I'm having to do actual work 🙄 and haven't read thread.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 26/04/2021 12:02

I’m starting to think that Carmichael isn’t bent as such, nor is she linked to the OCG. Rather, she is simply not interested in ‘catching bent coppers’.

As she said to Kate - ‘I’m not a fool but I am pragmatic’. I think she’s a career-minded, ambitious jobsworth who simply wants to get to the top of the tree so she’ll follow whichever path will get her there.

DustyHoneydew · 26/04/2021 12:02

@Comeinoutoftherain Mother of God, what a theory!

shyposter · 26/04/2021 12:02
@shyposter for the stand off Ted said "that's my officer" with Carmichael following them out and presumably getting in same car to keep an eye on them. Last night they watched Carmichael leave for something else and followed her out separately.
But that's what confused me - they followed her out separately but arrived at the scene in what seemed to be the same vehicle as her!

GreenSlide · 26/04/2021 12:04

@BentBastard

Suspect Kate ran because she doesn't trust anyone above her (including Hastings) but not required more explicit explanation, which I hope they provide.

I also think there was more conversation between Kate and Steve off camera which, again, I hope is revealed.

I'm still sticking with Osbourne. Many sayings it's obvious, but not everything needs a massive twist, I think as viewers we've come to expect enormous twists and it's not necessary IMO.

Agree that Jo's mum likely killed and passed off as suicide as a way to threaten Jo to becomes OCG police plant

This are my immediate thoughts. Might have more after rewatch later.

Yeah I think we've been to led to believe it's Osbourne over this series and I do think it has to be Osbourne, it wraps the story up nicely if next week is the final ever episode given he was in S1 E1.

There's too much to go over if it's going to be someone completely random like Lomax or one of the 3 protagonists.

Unless they're planning on ending LOD with us never finding out who the fourth man was, Ted being forced to retire, Steve being suspended, Kate having Ryan's shooting hanging over her and all of us wondering why the hell Steph was even in series 6. Which after last night seems possible actually.

Constantcrayfish · 26/04/2021 12:05

There were two office departures - one at the end of the last episode, when they raced out followed by Carmichael, and Hastings said 'that's my officer', and they got to the scene of the shooting together.

Then there was the one when they saw her putting her coat on after getting the call about the tracker's whereabouts, and followed her out, when they confronted Kate and Jo - they were all lined up together but no sign of how they'd got there I don't think? I might have missed them emerging from the vehicle.

GreenSlide · 26/04/2021 12:06

I think what's under the floor might be images of child sexual exploitation that incriminate Osbourne and others.

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 26/04/2021 12:09

Did they not just walk past her car to reach where she was. Presumably there'd been some radio contact en route too. Carmichael said there were GPS trackers on all of AC-12's vehicles - they knew where Kate was and they knew when she switched to Steve's car. Obviously saying AC-12 can't be trusted is the reason they gave for tracking them, but really they're being tracked by those who want to disrupt them.

What is under the workshop floor? A bunker with H and a laptop?

PhillipPhillop · 26/04/2021 12:13

Under the floor - are we still missing some of Jackie Laverty?

Does anyone else thing Marcus thingy is not really dead, otherwise what would be the point of casting James Nesbitt in the role? I haven’t rtfs so apples if this has already been covered.

Constantcrayfish · 26/04/2021 12:16

Oh, I hope not. That would add nothing to the story.
Constantcrayfish · 26/04/2021 12:18

We are spoiler-free on here, but I think there is one bit of the original trailer left that we haven't yet seen played out which was read in one way before the series started and I'm now thinking means something different.

I like AMM in this.
I liked the car chase.
I thought Kelly M was great last night.

I have nothing else to add re theories, as I’m stumped.
