Hope you all don’t mind, getting near the end of thread 7, so thought I’d trot this one out!

Loved the one fan theory that Ted is a ghost who only Kate and Steve can see! 🤣🤣

I really hope we aren’t disappointed tomorrow. We are all caught up in the hype. I just hope the finale lives up to whatever ending everyone wants.

iklboo · 01/05/2021 22:36

Bet it turns out it was all a dream Steve had after being involved in the cover up - or an hallucination caused by his hospital treatment. The characters will all emerge as hospital staff involved in his care - Ted is an orderly, Kate is his consultant, all the OCGs & bent coppers are fellow inmates. The evidence board is his macrame occupational health project.

Pan out....scene....credits.

I know! I’m torn between wanting the hours to race by so I can watch it, but also feeling like I don’t want to be disappointed.

I’m going to do my usual of not being on the thread while it’s airing. I need to concentrate on the screen 🤣. Will definately be back here for the debrief after.

I’m probably very late to the party, but saw the Lee Mack LOD spoof from last year’s comic relief today. Therefore, I think Lee Mack is H 😂

I’d love there to be a series 7 with no H or OCG storyline.

GrandmasNightgown · 01/05/2021 22:46

and it’s weird that he referred to them as “four caddies”

My theory is that they're those who infiltrated the police for the OCG all along, doing their bidding directly sometimes, but mainly there to spot other coppers who can be persuaded, groomed, coerced or blackmailed into bent activities. So the three we know are Dot, Ryan and Jo.

Dot was commissioned by Hilton to find another recruit just like him at the end of their caddying conversation in S1. So even though Ryan joined after Dot's death, he may well have known he was inbound. And as Jo had been in the police since 1999, it shows OCG is playing a long game

iklboo · 01/05/2021 23:04

Is four caddies like Four Candles.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 01/05/2021 23:11

I was just going to write the same thing 😂😂😂

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 01/05/2021 23:21

Has anyone mentioned Gill Biggeloe? My memory is a bit hazy but isn't she the only one of the 3/4 of H that we know about still alive? Wonder if she will make a return with the final boss tomorrow? (Apologies if I've got this wrong, it's been a while since I saw the last season)

TitsInAbsentia · 01/05/2021 23:23

The wee donkey! I am so sorry I posted something off reg, I accept my yellow notice 😭

PrincessScarlett · 01/05/2021 23:29

@PomLikeTheBattle Martin/Steve gave Johnathan Ross the impression that the finale tomorrow ties up all previous series so IF there is a series 7 it will be a new chapter.

PrincessScarlett · 01/05/2021 23:30

Although if there is a series 7 and it's a completely new chapter then it makes it more likely that Ted/Steve/Kate is no more 😭

We need to see Gill's bouncy blow dry again! Maybe her and Ted can run off to the witpro sunset together...
Ilovemypantry · 01/05/2021 23:47

I love the way that Steve and Kate always greet each other with “Alright”. Every.Single.Time.

JovialNickname · 01/05/2021 23:58

Thinking about the grand finale tomorrow. I know it's not possible because the plot and narrative up until now doesn't support it, but wouldn't it be amazing if Ted was H! Can you imagine him turning into evil Ted right at the end, with the full "Urgent Exit Required" shenanigans. Disappearing on the back of a motorbike in a hail of gunfire. Mother of God that would be something I'd like to see Grin

I'm still really curious about the laptop he secretly attempted to dispose of at the computer shop/front for OCG. He said he had been looking at porn on it? It must have been some hardcore viewing to have to dispose of the thing altogether. The porn equivalent of burning your house down because you haven't done the washing up.

JovialNickname · 02/05/2021 00:01

I think there will be a series 7, JM has already said he's up for it and it's so popular.

I think series six will = finding H, and series 7 will be tracking him down and apprehending him. There's been too much of a build up for it to be a "I'll come quietly guv" type ending, all wrapped up in one episode

TedisnotH · 02/05/2021 01:49

This is a spoiler free thread, remember. Nothing on here apart from stuff gleaned from previous episodes.
Or there will be deletions, and Reg 15 s served

SophieB100 · 02/05/2021 05:27

Jesus, Mary, Joseph and the wee donkey, the Three Wise Men, the shepherds and all the wee lambs, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John and all their wee fellas...IT'S LINE OF DUTY DAY!!!!

MotherOfGodWeeFella · 02/05/2021 07:19

H is not going to be Ted. If it was, why on earth would he be the person banging on about it to the extent his superiors keep telling him to drop it? That makes no sense at all.

WeWantAMackerelNotASprat · 02/05/2021 07:24

I was listening to Jed's interview on obsessed with the line of duty and he sounded to me as though many things need to be taken at face value rather than spun into a huge theory!

Which is what a few of us have been saying on here!
PomLikeTheBattle · 02/05/2021 07:56

Agree - people have been looking too closely - including me !

WeeDonkey · 02/05/2021 08:17

There might be a few things I look at in detail, but I generally like my TV drama to entertain me, not give me more work to do (my day job involves analysis of paperwork / photos etc)!

Deep, deep cover.

He's the one who decides who is expendable and when.

Because I can't see how there haven't been more attempts on the lives of the key three if it were anyone else
