It was nice to have an episode without moody Lev this week.
I like Ethan and always hope he has some happiness!

Optimist1 · 19/07/2021 17:12

@NewModelArmyMayhem18

I think someone (possibly David?) assumed Ma was Rosa but apparently not. Not sure they revealed who Ma is though?
I think Ollie said it was a friend of his (Magda? Maddie? - I didn't catch what he said), which made the texts entirely appropriate.

@Blondeshavemorefun

Behind so watching lastbeeek.

What has Leslie ash done to her face

Know she did lips years ago

But the rest of her. Used to be so pretty

Now she reminds me of Vincent from beauty and the beast from years ago

Omg we loved that show
Blondeshavemorefun · 23/07/2021 19:05

It was good. I liked Vincent

Right caught up with last weeks. Finally

So it’s not Rosa fault he is ill

But we don’t know what it is

Ma is a friend

Glad Ethan finally had his happy ending

I still want to pull her nose ring out 😂

The final Fenisha and Ethan scene was so lovely - I’m so glad they have finally got together.

Yondergoat · 24/07/2021 22:08

Nobody watching this week? Don't know why they thought a constant argument between Jacob and Tina would be interesting 🤔

Gassylady · 24/07/2021 22:15

Whats with the on screen visualisation of thoughts?

Pinkflipflop85 · 24/07/2021 22:21

That was a really dull episode.

tapdancingmum · 24/07/2021 22:24

Maybe I missed the pertinent bit but how did Jacob get those wounds on his hand? I'd already rewound it once to see how she got bumped by the door but couldn't be bothered to do it again.

Really dull as a pp said.

PheasantsNest · 24/07/2021 22:28

Tonight's episode was terrible. It's getting worse every week. It's so dull.

spiderlight · 24/07/2021 22:31

I think the hand injury was supposed to be from flying glass after she threw whatever it was that she threw. Really weird episode though! it was like one of those choose-your-own-adventure books from the 80s! Are we suppoied to assume that the second decision was the one he actually made each time? Not that I really cared after the first couple of scenarios.

tapdancingmum · 24/07/2021 22:33

That's what I thought but couldn't work out how it injured him so badly.

spiderlight · 24/07/2021 23:15

It wasn't the most plausible injury, was it?

Rainbowhermit · 25/07/2021 00:10

Interesting how many thought this episode tedious. I watched with my dd who has been the victim of domestic abuse and coercive control. She said it was really well done - that the 'speak up' or 'keep the peace' dilemma was exactly how it felt. We assumed it was one of their public information episodes, and hoped it might raise some awareness.

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 25/07/2021 07:37

Haven't seen last night's episode yet but there's an article about it on Digital Spy - I don't want to post spoilers here though.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/07/2021 08:38

I actually found it very powerful and horrible to watch. Our 'hunch' about Tina was spot on.

LavenderAskew · 25/07/2021 09:19

I think it was well done.- it also showed that even a person who is a strong person can find themselves being controlled and caught in an abusive relationship.

Though I get why people might not like it, it's always odd when Casualty move off thier usual style.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 25/07/2021 09:23

They've done a few more 'out there' type of episodes recently. Mixing it up keeps it interesting. Remember the one with the husband and wife where she had dementia and it kept going backwards and forwards in time, showing them celebrating their wedding anniversary over the course of their very long marriage?

Wondering how Jacob is going to get out of this relationship :-(. Super Ian to the rescue hopefully.

SleepingStandingUp · 25/07/2021 11:15

I've just watched it, i really enjoyed it, if that's tve right word. I like that they've done it this way round. Big bloke, senior position, petite woman, junior position. I think it works both ways - showing it can happen to guys too, but also for women being abused, seeing a woman doing it - it isn't just a man thing, it isnt just how men and women are etx

TheWeeDonkeyFella · 25/07/2021 11:54

I thought it was well done too, an interesting format.

Exactly this ^
Gilmorehill · 27/07/2021 18:26

It was a bit of a dull episode but I felt a bit sorry for Jacob. Tina is awful.

Mum21031608 · 27/07/2021 21:41

I’ve just caught up and really enjoyed it - I felt quite moved by it actually.

I think we have all been in the position where we keep the peace rather than say what we think/feel for worry about the fall out.

And the ending was very poignant....getting the message across that if someone is volatile, whether you keep the peace or speak out, that side to them will always be there and eventually it will show itself no matter what you do.

I thought it was very well done.

That’s what I got from it too. In the end she lost it, whatever Jacob did it was always going to happen eventually.
