Ok, I've started a new one in anticipation of Thread 3 filling up tonight, part way through the episode!

Ah X Post with jackieweaver. Obviously, as all wise people do I defer to her in the matters.

Cocacola12 · 12/04/2021 13:35

Did anyone notice the plates on the second black Range Rover looked suspiciously like the plates on the police car that went into the reservoir? I need to re watch this episode - but I definitely thought it looked the same

BloodyInternetFood · 12/04/2021 13:35

Terry may be her brother?

We don't know anything about his background. He could gave easily grown up in a home in generic Midlands Town while his older sister grew up in Scotland.

Glass thrown in anger at mother in photo for giving him away.

ChocBeforeCock · 12/04/2021 13:37

I’m still not sure it’s the OCG on the other end of that messenger service. I think it’s the relative.

So if it’s Dryden, then she’s telling him it’s done as in her DNA has been found, and that she’s finished as in about to be found out?

MysteriousAffairAtStyles · 12/04/2021 13:40

In what sense did they look the same? Do you mean they had the same reg?

Why would the OCG clone the reg of a police vehicle that’s currently involved in an investigation into a suspicious incident involving a witness in a high-profile case? Confused

MysteriousAffairAtStyles · 12/04/2021 13:41

John and Lisa thought it was ‘H’ on the other end - though they may have been being duped.

PrincessScarlett · 12/04/2021 13:42

Maybe by outing herself to AC12 Jo is hoping it's a way out of the control of the OCG and she won't have a use to them anymore. Although a bit of a dodgy plan as Ryan may well end up bumping her off.

Heyha · 12/04/2021 13:43

I like the idea that Jo wants AC12 to pick it all apart and get her out of the miserable mess she's in, at least she knows AC12 won't kill her!

I wondered where Tatleen had gone, I thought she was really good.

I've been reading the Wiki. So much stuff! If anyone wants a starting point I'd dive in at Derek Hilton. I know he's dead but the linkbacks through him are substantial.

Heyha · 12/04/2021 13:45

I wonder if there's no answer on the chat system as the person who was running it previously is now dead or properly locked up? 🤔

ChocBeforeCock · 12/04/2021 13:45

Ah ok, it hadn’t occurred to me it was necessarily the same person just the same messaging service but you could be right.

I’ve rewatched and she says “job done” and “I’m finished” immediately after attending Farida’s house and observing the DNA search conclude.

MysteriousAffairAtStyles · 12/04/2021 13:46

The promos for this series did describe Jo as the most complex adversary to date, so perhaps she is trying to play off/balance both sides against the other: she’s in with the OCG due to blackmail/threats to someone close to her, but at the same time she wants AC-12 involved because she’s clearly distraught at the situation (the hysterics in her car after collecting the burned phone) and sees them as her only way out.

Cocacola12 · 12/04/2021 13:48

I just re watched that scene and it isn’t the same plate, I think LOD has me questioning everything 😂

Bluntness100 · 12/04/2021 13:48

I think the relative is Ocg, we know it’s a male criminal. One thy all know. I don’t think she’s doing it to protect the criminal relative, I think she’s doing it because she’s being blackmailed. Her career would be over if they found out who she was.

I did wonder if the person was offline for a reason but she didn’t knowing Ie in prison or being questioned by ac 12.

Jo may have lied about her identity so thr 1976 is a clue she gave a different birthdate on joining making herself three years older than she is.

MysteriousAffairAtStyles · 12/04/2021 13:51

Ah ok, it hadn’t occurred to me it was necessarily the same person just the same messaging service but you could be right.

It might just be that they needed a ‘fake’ messaging service for TV purposes dvd it could be anyone on there. Ted had access to the same messaging service too, in his hotel room, on the laptop he later got rid of.

So maybe it’s a generic messaging service or maybe its special social media for crims!

EsmaCannonball · 12/04/2021 13:56

Kate's implied that she wanted out of AC-12 because its cases were stagnating in recent times, because she wanted new challenges and because she was disappointed and tainted by Ted's minor bentness. Perhaps she had shiftier reasons for transferring to the MIT. Perhaps, with AC-12 work drying up, she was more useful to the OCG in keeping an eye on murder investigations or on Jo herself.

AwkwardArnottDentonFumble · 12/04/2021 14:08

Just started my series 5 rewatch and one of the policemen killed in the hijack was called Greysham. That was one of the surnames on The List, according to a previous thread. Coincidence? 🧐

BobBobBobbin · 12/04/2021 14:08

Not really a plot point but just struck me when Buckells was spilling the milk in the cell - do they really give prisoners kettles in their cells?

FawnDrench · 12/04/2021 14:09

Re who the dna belongs to - my wild imagination thinks it's Roz Huntley's husband Nick Huntley and that he's Jo's brother.

He was a solicitor, at one time he got arrested (they thought he threw Steve down the stairs I think) and later released, I'm sure. So they would have his dna or whatever.
And why have they reintroduced all this from the Roz Huntley series?
Jimmy Lakewell and Nick were best friends.

I think Jo is being blackmailed to stop someone doing away with Roz who's presumably still in prison.
Nick Huntley has begged her to save his wife, her sister-in-law.

Otherwise it's Tommy Hunter.

Or someone else entirely of course.

Yeah they do if they're well behaved. Bizarre isn't it? Same with them being allowed to swing heavy weights around in the gym.
ClarasZoo · 12/04/2021 14:13

The podcast last night said the relative is a police officer. Ok if it’s not Osborne it’s Hilton, but I still think it’s Osborne.

YouKnobhead · 12/04/2021 14:14

What podcast and if it knows, how does it know and surely that's a spoiler Angry? So presumably it's more speculation?

YouKnobhead · 12/04/2021 14:15

I still think Kate's a deep UCO. NOT AC12 and not working for Ted. But playing a very long game, doing everything everyone expects her to in terms of giving info to AC12, spilling info back to Jo, and trying to keep Jo onside by comments about Ryan.

BobBobBobbin · 12/04/2021 14:16

@MysteriousAffairAtStyles

Yeah interesting - almost as if she wanted her DNA to be found

And knew that AC-12 would uncover the connection and bring it all to a close, thereby ‘saving’ her/the relative she’s protecting.

She did say in an earlier episode that she wanted Kate specifically because she wanted an AC officer on her team. She implied it was to flush out Buckells, but perhaps she wanted AC-12 nosing into things for other reasons, and knew Kate wouldn’t be able to resist reporting back to Ted/Steve?

If this were the case, why would she fit up Farida and Buckells? Surely she could have confessed when AC-12 first brought her in for questioning rather than deflect attention away from her?
ClarasZoo · 12/04/2021 14:17

The one with Neil Morrissey and Dot Cotton.
