I know we think its a man whose connected to Jo, but could Gill be linked?

There aren’t that many nominals in the show. It is a non police officer who has been dna tested in the course of an investigation. My list is

Laverty
Bigglow
Tommy Hunter
Terry Boyle
Lakewell
Anyone called Banks.

It’s being implied Jo is being coerced into corruption by the OCG. They must have some way to pressurise her. Blackmail over a misdeed or a threat to her family.

What if Terry Boyle is her relative. He is being threatened and she needs to save him.

The fact that the Lakewell clip was about Balaclava Man/Men, was that to remind us of Denmoor? That is my current theory as to who is the DNA link to Jo. And that would ticknthe boxes of a male crim probably from before Jo joined the police, who probably had enough money to secure her a nice flat.

But he is dead (shot by ted), so i dont get why Jo is so involved, as it feels like she is protecting someone.

I think Jo's son is the young Paul McCartney-ish robber of the bookies. I noticed in episode one that she showed so much emotion in the convoy scenes. Her and Buckles are being used by the OCG. Mother of God

I think Tommy is a good shout, doesn’t necessarily need to be father (they said some partial matches so does that suggest not a direct descendent like parent? I should’ve paid more attention in biology).

Before the screenshot up thread showed it’s Jo in the pic I was thinking of men with short dark hair so I thought terry or jimmy.

The implication was that it was someone already on the system when she joined up in 1999.

Apologies if this has already been said but did Jo grow up in the care system perhaps? There seems to be a big connection to the care system in LOD. Maybe she was in care then adopted and then the OCG found her when she became a police officer? She's now being forced to work for the OCG to protect relatives from the OCG.

I don't know why they don't give up on trying to transport prisoners by car, they seem to get held up every time. Or at least they could arrange for another batch of armed police to be 30 seconds behind to ambush the baddies.

Jo seemed very upset about Lakewell.

My head is beyond pickled. Far too many characters for me. I enjoy it, but I have no idea what's going on the vast majority of the time.

I loved Bodies and recommend it, but it’s a very different kind of programme to Line of Duty I think

I watched Bodies for the first time after seeing Series 5 of Line of Duty and would say you shouldn't watch it until you have had all your babies!

It will all go back to the care homes. Not sure how yet, but it will.

Buckles is lazy and low level corrupt. As someone said they probably hooked him in as a result of his sleazy activities and it's been good for his career so far. They wouldn't have bothered strangling Lakewell in front of him if they didn't want him to keep quiet.

The Chief Constable (ex AF boss) also has to be exposed, but is there someone above him?

I'm still going with both Jo and Buckells being blackmailed by the OCG, for different reasons: Jo to protect/save from death a relative and Buckells probably because they've got a sperm sample stored. Neither are a big player but both useful.

I don't think Ryan is H but he's a trusted inner circle OCG person, now usefully on the inside and keeping the pressure on Jo. I don't think that Jo was specifically upset by news of Lakewell's death, but more the realisation that the OCG can kill in prison.
