Ok, I've started a new one in anticipation of Thread 3 filling up tonight, part way through the episode!

Hmmm not sure I’m seeing Chloe as the leak, but you never know.

I thought of Banks immediately when they said "Blackthorn Prison".

So Boyle, Ryan and Banks are still alive and connected to the OCG. And Lisa, I suppose.

Before tonight I thought Jo was Tommy Hunters daughter, now think she is related to either Hunter or dead Jimmy

I think Chloe is the leak - the bit with the van door and then the double bluff saying the leak could be in AC12

My DH thinks the PCC chap is the dodgy one

Just said this on another thread but I think it’s Dot. He was in the care system (I think? The boys’ home) and Jo said to Farida that she had no family. They could have been brother and sister but she was taken to Scotland and brought up, hence accent. Maybe the woman in the photo is Jo’s adoptive mum who was in on the OCG hence her complex feelings towards her.

They've really cocked up haven't they, with Farida and Buckell. It's like the Keystone cops in some ways.

On a sad note, Sarah Hughes , the Guardian journalist who has written a blow by blow Line of Duty blog since season 1 died earlier this week .

Her brilliant, incisive recaps of both previous series and the current series are available on the Guardian website. She loved the series, was a consummate fan and great at picking up those little clues and red herrings that we all love.

I used to love her Game of Thrones recaps.

I'm not sure it is a he in the photo. DH and I have replayed that closing scene about ten times and I think it's indecipherable as to whether Steve says 'he' or 'its' with almost no diction of the t.
Would need to know what the subtitles say, but I'm not sure that they are 100% accurate anyway?

Who's Jo typing to on the laptop? Who's not responding to her ?

A nominal is just anyone with a criminal record right? So a known criminal who’s not a police officer. That doesn’t leave us many people in LoD terms.

I’m pretty sure he said it was on another force’s system though?

Photo was Jo, I’ve rewound about 20 times!! I guess the ‘he’ is in print against her photo. I’ve said from the beginning that I think she’s John Corbet’s sister, I thought the photo of her mum was Anne Marie. What does Pilkington have on Jo that he can tell her to keep him in?? Poor old Patrick Baladi, what the hell!

Imagine being the Ryan actor, and doing a small -but excellent and pivotal- role in Series 1. Then you come back a few series later and all good. Then you see the proposal and script for S6....

He is great.

Yes. I agree.

The actor playing Ryan is very good. He is playing it in this quiet psycho way, which is brilliant.

He's not over acting and acting like a big bad man. But just with creepy facial expressions that don't give away what he is thinking. Very unnerving.

I did say last thread I thought Chloe was doing a ‘Jamie’ and might be a wrongun’. Mind you I also thought jo was hunter’s daughter but I don’t think he was a 14 yr old father... it’s a he either not on the police database or no longer on the police database... Nige?

It’s not a he in the photo.

The photo is of Jo, her photo is in the file because her DNA was found.

When run through the system, it linked her DNA to that of a nominal on the police database (reasonably sure he said on another force’s database).

That info was on the next page and deliberately concealed as Ted turned the page.

Steve definitely said he.

James clearly making sure Steve confirmed nothing had been said in the van. Also possibly indicating to Steve that she's involved by his over familiarity with her - I mean, would he even know Chloe to be on first name terms?
