Anyway... Corrie in 1998.

When Roy first appeared, when he was in the flats scaring Deirdre, he drank. I remember him knocking her door with a bottle in his hand

Roy had a complete personality change. He was quite sinister in his early scenes with Deirdre, Tricia and Mike.

Yes he offered her whiskey 🤔 He also had a, sister whose kids he baby sat for, why are they not at the wedding?

Roy’s sister has gone the same way as Linda’s ‘usband. Mentioned once, never heard of again.

I think they quickly realised Roy was far more likeable as an intelligent but somewhat naive guy

I miss the days when background characters gradually became a bigger part of the street; presumably after producers saw potential in both the characters and actors. I think it’s still a while off yet, but watch when Karen (Suranne Jones) comes into it. She’s little more than an extra at first; just a friend for Linda. You’d never imagine she’d go on to be a major character - or that Suranne Jones would be such a star.

Oh didn’t know she was in it that be good to see she’s great actor.

She’s great in it Akire. Wonderful chemistry with the actor who plays her love interest.

I am convinced that Mike is being set up by that woman. Probably by Greg. I wish they hadn’t juxtaposed his infidelity episode with the one where Alma finds a lump.
Thank fuck Nick and Leanne have broken up. She cannot hold a conversation without shouting, and every second sentence was an accusation of some sort. Nick is well off out of it!

I thought Leanne was well shot of Nick and his horrible mother, she was so pleased about the baby and he pushed her into the abortion. I agree about Mike, he was still trying to chase his fling and would be carrying on still if she would be have let him. I know the story arc with Alma but it’s so sad because she was a lovely classy smart older lady and was always too good for Mike.

I’d misremembered Alma’s storyline. I thought it was a different cancer that she was being checked out for.

This storyline eventually introduced Richard Hillman didn’t it? They were cousins.

Yes she was i think they should have given a better ending, they should have had her sailing off into the sunset with a multimillionaire imo
