He wouldn't have made DS if he was as daft as he acts!

MatildaMainly · 10/04/2021 19:47

@GoofyIsACow sorry notsorry Grin It's good isn't it.

Re Buckles, all this is precisely why he's a quandary.

I'm up to series 5 last episode, the feature length episode and the bits where Hastings is being interviewed under caution in the AC 12 building. I've answered my own question about the armed guards. First time there are two armed officers outside the office and when he's brought back the next time there seems to be a regiment of them. Presumably because he's suspected of being H.

No joy looking for the piano music Lindsay Denton played. I tried Shazam but it wasn't recognised for me.

Adultingin2021 · 10/04/2021 20:12

The H shaped tiles in Steph’s kitchen doing the rounds on social media is a red herring- if you watch the episode, there are several tiles with the H pattern on the wall, but Steve steps in front of them which leaves only one visible- this has been screen shotted and is being punted round as a ‘theory’.

But I don’t think it is. I think it’s just some clever social media marketing to generate chat about the series.

TedisnotH · 10/04/2021 20:29

Wonder who will take my place interviewing Buckles. Has to be one rank senior and we are both Superintendent. Have to follow the rules, to the letter of the law, the letter, so AC12 can catch Bent Coppers, Bent Coppers!
Maybe that wee stuck up girl who made me call her Maa'm
Patricia Carmichael? Bitch

Adultingin2021 · 10/04/2021 21:06

As a couple of posters expressed an interest on this thread, I've done an AMA thread for anyone interested in asking anything related to AFOs Grin

EsmaCannonball · 10/04/2021 21:27

I've just realised that the tall, skinny Murder Squad detective is Flip from This is England. So that's him, Stephen Graham and Vicky McClure.

PawFives · 10/04/2021 23:50

@Chrysanthemum5

Thank you to the PP who recommended the Shrine of Duty podcast it's brilliant! I love it when they talk about Steph as Chicken Licken - apparently that's the book she was reading to her children when John died. The way they say it with such relish makes me laugh every time Grin
Agree, only heard of it from this thread but love it!
Bloodypunkrockers · 11/04/2021 00:04

I enjoy most of Shrine of Duty except for Rebecca? who sounds like a saliva drenched child

I'm also struggling with the American season shite.

It's series. Series. We're not American

SingToTheSky · 11/04/2021 00:06

In deep with series 3 now - made the most of being in bed ill and have watched many hours.

Absolutely love this series. Knowing what’s coming this time, I found Danny’s character so well portrayed and emotive. Finding the treatment of the other sandview witness hard going though, not enough compassion from Arnott.

Will finish it before the new episode then crack on with s4 and 5 next week.

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 11/04/2021 00:09

I’ve started watching Between the Lines on iPlayer and although I’m mostly watching it for nostalgic glimpses of Nineties London, and amazingly famous British actors apparently just out of primary school, it’s also a fascinating partner to LOD and I highly recommend it for the end of May when we’re all suffering withdrawal symptoms. Maybe we could do a rewatch thread then?

Episode one features the usefulness of hairdressing salons for laundering cash.

Netaporter · 11/04/2021 00:14

@FourWordsImMuNiTy also enjoying between the lines. So many famous faces!

SteveArnottsCodeine · 11/04/2021 02:37

Have we got a new thread yet for episode four? I’m name changed and ready for sucking some diesel.

JaneJeffer · 11/04/2021 02:42

There a series called Bent Coppers: Crossing the Line of Duty starting on BBC2 on Wednesday at 9 about police corruption in the 70's.

longwayoff · 11/04/2021 06:04

Looking forward to Bent Coppers. I recall the 70s as a time when it was an automatic assumption that the Met was as corrupt as it could be. Should be interesting. A couple of years ago, feeling LOD withdrawal, I watched all series of Between The Lines on YouTube. Given its age

longwayoff · 11/04/2021 06:07

Bugger this phone. Given age, it's ok.

I need to watch this; I bet it's fascinating!
GoofyIsACow · 11/04/2021 08:47

It’s tonight folks!! 🤯

ThisIsSimplyBeyond · 11/04/2021 10:02

It better be on!! Any more breaking news and I might break something

passwordnotsecure · 11/04/2021 10:11

there's a lot of buzz on twitter that tonight's episode is an absolute cracker - hope it doesn't disappoint!

passwordnotsecure · 11/04/2021 10:14

also, which episode are we on - there are only 7!

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 11/04/2021 10:21

Tonight’s episode is 4.

The tiles in Chicken Licken's kitchen are the same as per series 5 (which I am midway on). Has to just be a coincidence, but then listening to Obsessed podcast Craig keeps saying Jed doesn't just put things in for now reason....he KEEPS saying it and it's driving me mad now looking for detail!
MatildaMainly · 11/04/2021 12:06

I've seen the talk of a plot twist and an epic episode four, am so excited for it. I'm going to have to name change in honour too Grin

dancemom · 11/04/2021 12:24

So looking forward to tonight, it's been a tough week and the thought of LOD is the only thing that's got me through!

Going to rewatch last weeks episode at 8pm to both recap myself and expend the LOD experience!

What's between the lines?

OhWhyNot · 11/04/2021 12:39

Have been listening to Obsessed it’s brilliant

But Craig got confused in the second episode he sad that Jo in conversation with Ryan called Freida a rat. It wasn’t Ryan it was Lomex (who is like Dot)

I liked that he too picked up the issues of small beds Grin
