@Dailyhandtowelwash I'm guessing they are leaving Ryan be for now to see what else they can learn such as who else is involved. If they arrested and interviewed Ryan now then whoever is behind it all would know they are onto them and go to ground.

I guess so. It just feels weird when they’ve Reg 15ed people for far less over the last five series!

I love how we have no idea at all what Kate thinks of Jo. Surely she doesn’t buy the Buckells stuff wholeheartedly. I am so looking forward to his interview.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 04/04/2021 23:39

Very twisty turny, tense episode tonight
My heart was in my mouth when they were all popping up in the water with Ryan trying to drown them like whack a mole whilst Kate is held up in traffic
Same when Steve is in Steph's attic with me wondering how long that school run is
Not to mention the cringey tension of wondering if we would be treated to seeing Steve failing to get it up with Steph

I always thought Buckells was just thick not bent but for 5 mins I thought I was wrong, then realised Jo is framing him

I do think Kate and Hastings were too quick to give up on Jo as a suspect given she can't blame Buckells for the dodgy armed robbery and Kate saw her throwing the interview with Terry. I think they do know it's her and are just letting her think she's got away with it so that no-one offs Kate.

Blondeshavemorefun · 04/04/2021 23:45

@Netaporter

Anyone else getting a vibe this series might be the last? Too many LOD bingo lines I think..
No. There is def a s7

Glad to see return of Horndog Steve.

PrincessScarlett · 04/04/2021 23:46

Yes, I think Kate still suspects Jo and Jo knows Kate still suspects her. I wonder if Jo will trust Kate enough to ask for help as it's becoming more obvious that she's out of her depth.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 04/04/2021 23:54

Well I've just caught up with tonight's episode & blimey!

As you were

Bloodypunkrockers · 05/04/2021 00:41

It was really good

Pace is picking up nicely

Furries · 05/04/2021 00:46

I’m mostly enjoying it, but am a bit frustrated by how easily they released Jo last week, and then all the convenient stuff with Buckles this week.

In my eyes, they are a shite AC unit!

Am hoping it’s all part of their master plan though. Keep giving Jo enough rope to slip up somehow. And she’s not “evil” bent, definitely coerced bent.

Everything moved a bit too fast for my brain to remember. Was there an outcome to the extra forensic search at Farida’s house? I don’t think there was, so am assuming that will come up in the next episode.

CovoidOfAllHumanity · 05/04/2021 01:08

I think that they are taking a new more subtle tactic letting things run and trying to get to the top dogs

They are not really winning with the OCG: so many wrong 'uns arrested but still it goes on
Also the top brass don't want to hear about Ted's letter of the law
so they have to be a bit more stealthy

I still think Kate will be deep under cover and that Ted knows but Steve doesn't. They are leaving Jo and Ryan and seeing if they can get to the big guns, the 4th man

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/04/2021 04:30

Well, it's all warming up nicely!

The Commissioner hasn't come to AC12's notice yet (the one who was the AF boss in S1). Just a matter of time though.

The character played by Owen Teale? with the badly dyed eyebrows Osborne.
CongealedCrags · 05/04/2021 07:30

Am I imagining that Hastings called Buckle before he was brought in? What was that about?

Ulysses · 05/04/2021 07:31

The Shrine of Duty podcast is brilliant. I'd say it was far more thorough than the version produced by the BBC. Lots of theories on there and input from eagle eyed viewers. I listened to their recap episodes the other day as I forgot so much about what had happened is S4 and S5.

I think the issue with Steve is that he's not told his work about his back and is probably medically unfit for duty rather than then addiction to pain relief.

Agree about Kate being deep undercover. That episode shows how wary she is of Jo, withholding what she knows about Ryan for starters. I'm pretty sure it was Jo that made the mistake - deliberately? - about the authorisation for the surveillance in the first episode but she told Kate that it was Buckells, so not convinced that it was Buckells either that got Ryan on board.

aretherereally4Hs · 05/04/2021 07:43

@dancemom what was the cliff line? I missed that!

SophieB100 · 05/04/2021 07:59

Things are happening earlier than I expected in this series - Ryan trying to kill Terry etc., which makes me think that there's far bigger fish to fry than just exposing Jo/Buckles.

Good series - am enjoying it more than series 5.

storminabuttercup · 05/04/2021 08:05

Re Steve and Steph I didn't get the feeling any of that was sexual really (not that it could be more) but that they both needed a hug

Wanting AC12 to interview Terry.
aretherereally4Hs · 05/04/2021 08:08

@dancemom thanks! Don't know how I missed that!

JSL52 · 05/04/2021 08:11

@30not13

Was anyone else here waiting for Definately!!
Yes !
banano · 05/04/2021 08:11

Not totally related to S6, but can someone help me understand about John Corbett and why he is now seen as a hero, especially by Hastings? He seems to have got over the fact that Corbett tortured his wife very quickly!
Plus didn’t he shoot 3 police officers in the first robbery in S5 and then killed Hargreaves at the depot robbery, but everyone seems to be cool with that?
I know he was lied to by Jill Bigglow that Hastings was involved in his Mum’s murder but that doesn’t really seem to justify torturing Hastings wife. Also did he get the police pension in the end? Which would indicate the police were totally fine with the whole thing.

Maybe I’m overthinking this, but it’s been bugging me for ages!

storminabuttercup · 05/04/2021 08:11

Something bugging me.
The interview with the woman who claimed she saw the argument with the CHIS the one who described terry as looking 'different' they showed her a pic of Carl Banks, she said it wasn't him but then they had to do a video parade for her to identify Terry? They had his pic why not use that?

SophieB100 · 05/04/2021 08:15

@storminabuttercup
I think they said something like they couldn't show a picture because the person they thought it might be was a protected witness, so she would have to look at the video line-up? Something like that.
