Thought better do new thread. Hope haven’t jumped on anyone’s toes

I really enjoyed tonight's episode. I feel like it's all coming together nicely, with the freezer and the prison officer from series 3.

Buckells is being framed by Jo, 100%. I think he's bent to an extent but generally clueless. I am also worried for Katie's safety. How have they not found Jo's DNA at Farida's? Argh so many questions!

Season 6 snooker player waistcoat Steve is the poorest offering a woman could ever be given

GrinGrinGrinGrin

And this is why I don't ship Steve With Kate anymore. Kate does not deserve to be saddled with Season 6 Steve.

ChequerBoard · 04/04/2021 23:11

Hmm getting a bit suspicious of Hastings and his 'to the letter of the law' pronouncements when we know he has bunged £50k to Steph.

Unless that's a deliberate ploy to see what Steph would do...

hopeishere · 04/04/2021 23:12

@Pomegranatespompom

Where is the series set ?
It's set in a "generic English city". But it's filmed in Belfast.
Pomegranatespompom · 04/04/2021 23:13

@hopeishere I was trying to work out why Steph is mikes away ..!

I miss season 2 shagger Steve
Season 6 snooker player waistcoat Steve is the poorest offering a woman could ever be given

Even after a spell In prison, and a portion of chips he still couldn't close close deal with someone on sodding tag... i have no idea how he did it the rest of the time Grin

Netaporter · 04/04/2021 23:14

Anyone else getting a vibe this series might be the last? Too many LOD bingo lines I think..

GoofyIsACow · 04/04/2021 23:14

I think Kate is going to meet a grisly end this series... soz!

JustLyra · 04/04/2021 23:15

It’s supposed to be set in the midlands. The first series was shot in Birmingham.

PrincessScarlett · 04/04/2021 23:15

@Templetreebalm Farida was definitely assaulted by order of OCG to send a message to Jo. I'm guessing Jo was dragging her heels because after Buckells was arrested she messaged the mystery person to say "all under control now".

Do we know for definite that the woman in the picture is Jo's mum or are we all just presuming it's her mum?

I still would! 😍 him, even with the waistcoats

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 04/04/2021 23:19

I think that we as viewers were too quick to accept Ted’s gift of money to Steph Corbett in the finale last year with an “aww that’s lovely” because we know it was out of the best of motives and it’s not really stealing and hurrah! dodgy bloke wasn’t believed when he said it was 100 grand not fifty.

It’s satisfying to have it dawn upon us that no, this is not a lovely fairytale ending, this is a very serious act of corruption on Ted’s part, stealing proceeds of crime/evidence, and that when and if Steve tracks down the truth Ted is in for a world of pain. It’s possible that Jo Davidson is a red herring, that the real antagonist of this series: the quasi-sympathetic character who has done something terribly wrong for understandable motives, is Hastings.

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 04/04/2021 23:21

A correspondent to Shrine of Duty went above and beyond. Most of us have worked out that if we have subtitles on we can see more of the overheard half-conversations. But apparently if you put the audio-descriptions on then you can also grasp additional little nuggets. Specifically “Davidson looks at a photograph of her mother and throws her wineglass at it”.

CherryValanc · 04/04/2021 23:22

If I was Kate I'd have been tempted after I'd finished asking Ryan about how the car had gone into the water to ask Ryan if he wanted a Big Mac.

Possibly there's a reason why I'd be a bad police officer 😄

I found that episode stressful so much so, that I got so concerned Steph would catch Steve I the attic I stressed out at the end of the episode that he was still in the attic. DH had to remind me we'd seen him in the office afterwards 🙄

Dailyhandtowelwash · 04/04/2021 23:24

Great episode, and thanks for lots of ideas on here. I have some niggles!

  1. How on earth did they know the details of a missing freezer? Make and model - really?
  1. Why is no one but Kate and her little notebook interested in the attempted murder of Terry? That should be massive.
  1. Kate and Steve now suspect Ryan to the point that his very appointment in the team has become suggestive of criminal involvement by Buckells. But they’re just leaving him there? No AC12 interview?
  1. Steve had zero rationale for ordering Chloe to check the Corbetts’ bank account, and the line about sending authority through later on makes me think that will come back to haunt him.
JaneJeffer · 04/04/2021 23:25

I kept expecting someone to appear in Jo's house!

OysterMonkey · 04/04/2021 23:27

@dancemom

I don't know if my eyes will ever recover from this 🙈
WTF is that??!!
PrincessScarlett · 04/04/2021 23:27

And while we are on the subject of Steve in the attic, I did think he got up there rather easily considering he's in agony with his back!

FourWordsImMuNiTy · 04/04/2021 23:28

They knew the make and model of the freezer because it was a furnished council flat, which would have an inventory.

Dailyhandtowelwash · 04/04/2021 23:29

Oh, and also, my other issue, how is that prison officer still employed? Yet again, all these people with their IMMUNITY and no one has ever shopped her?

Dailyhandtowelwash · 04/04/2021 23:29

Thank you!
PrincessScarlett · 04/04/2021 23:29

@FourWordsImMuNiTy thanks for the tip re audio descriptions. So I guess the photo is Jo's mother after all.
