Love an all week drama - staring sally Lindsay and Elaine Cassidy

The killing of a burglar shatters a couples perfect life

sam Attacks one of the robbers with a knife after confronting an intruder

Wonder if he kills him

One of the guys looks like the weatherspoon's owner !

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2021 22:07

He just tried to stop him escaping

Obv didn’t want to kill him

A stab in leg would have been better

And did the farmer on the phone , order the break on

We’re they looking for something in particular

Stabbing someone in the back as they are trying to escape through a window is no way self-defence. Most people would have pushed him through and slammed the window shut.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2021 22:22

Ok. Not self defence

But he didn’t mean to kill him

Obv their lying doesn’t help

GillBungalow, according to the Guardian, it absolutely is.

ThatsShitTryHarder · 05/04/2021 22:32

I was looking forward to this but found it disappointing.

Of course stabbing someone who is trying to escape through a window isn’t self defence.

The killer was high so probably wasn’t capable of thinking whether or not stabbing someone hard in the back would kill them.

I don’t like anyone in it so far. I’ll try tomorrow’s episode but I’m not sure it’s worth three more hours of my life.

Do love the guardian recap

Stopped after 10 minutes, found a bit irritating and obvious - might give another try some other day

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/04/2021 22:55

I think if you take all c5 dramas with a pinch of salt. They are ok

It has a plot. Kind of

And easy watching

Yes but if you compare it with other series like Unforgotten and Line of Duty, it’s woeful.

Xmasbaby11 · 05/04/2021 23:30

I instantly disliked it. Totally stupid to drag the guy back inside and stab him in the torso. He was in no danger and clearly intended to hurt him. And to remove the knife - who does that? As soon as he stabbed him, he didn't want him to live and only thought of protecting himself. I had no sympathy for the guy and didn't really warm to the others. However, dh was impressed so I sat through it with him. Not sure I want to continue with it!

JemimaTab · 06/04/2021 02:03

Some of the acting in this is truly abysmal. I was struggling with it TBH.

Always knew those bloody vented dryer hoses led to trouble.

That Made me laugh! They are evil looking things. I loved the house oval design. They must pay a fortune to hire these beautiful homes in lovely places.
the80sweregreat · 06/04/2021 08:57

I missed the bit about the farmer ( who looked likes Tim from weather spoons) running a drugs ring. The middle class crowd were busy snorting his wares I suppose!
The one who ran off , he 'll be important I guess.

Clawdy · 06/04/2021 09:08

One good thing about it was that it wasn't packed with familiar faces, it made a change to see actors I didn't recognise. Apart from Sally Lindsay.

the80sweregreat · 06/04/2021 09:11

Sally Lindsay , I always think of her ( well, her voice mostly) in an old Wallace and Gromit film !

And the actor who plays Syed’s dad also plays Rash’s dad in Casualty Smile

I was bored. The people all seemed really stupid, or at least the husband did. How did he get the part, his acting is so hammy.

I keep watch C5 dramas every since the one set in Ireland with the mother who was really ill, and one of the daughters returns home and is convinced her father has done something wicked. (Second series was a mistake)

Whattheduck · 06/04/2021 14:51

Recorded it but gave up after 30 minutes the acting is awful and the storyline is just as bad

Blood starring the lovely Adrian Dunbar? Yes - series 1 was good!

Not enjoying this one though. Poor writing IMO.
Sally Lindsay wasn't in it much but I did like her darker hair.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2021 15:47

Was meant to be Pauline from birds from feather but she decided to stop acting , so sally got the role

I’m obv easily pleased as thought was ok

OP posts:
stumbledin · 06/04/2021 15:53

Yes - thanks. And it gave Adrain Dunbar a much broader part than he usually gets.

the80sweregreat · 06/04/2021 16:54

Pauline Quirke would have been good I think.
She was very good in Broadchurch 1.
I like Sally although I do place her in the ' funny lady' category rather than a serious role.
A pm would show a knife wound in the boys back ? How are they going to explain that ?

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/04/2021 17:42

The wife said she stabbed him as he was after her hubby

Not sure why she took the blame
