@SheldonesqueTheSecondComing

I’m a bit lot of a chubstrel.

Anything with buttons down the front is a no. Blouses, shirts, skirts, dresses, whatever.

My lurks take the brief glimpse of daylight as a chance to escape. And unless it is at least two sizes too big and sack shaped, I always get that ‘pulled’ look.

Is that you, MajorSheldonBstard??!! I hope you are well and enjoying the Sewing Bee. Wine
SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 18:32

It is my dearest maireas

Been working my trotters off and so far behind on lots of things. Just catching up on towie and mic as and when (I am taking the shame) the bee and i am away to check out the glittery jewellery programme.

They are repeating law and order uk (I have the biggest crush on Bradley Walsh’s character in that - no judging please!) so that has been my little guilty pleasure.

I’ve not even managed to catch Line of Duty. So I’ve decided that it will be a binge watch when I’ve a couple of days off with some 🍷

Hope you are tickety boo as well 🌻 x

iklboo · 22/04/2021 18:57

The glittery jewellery programme is quite good. Katherine Ryan is quite naughty. The lady judge is a bit bland though.

We love Snackmasters. Fred Siriex challenges two top chefs to make favourites like Burger King, Quavers, Shreddies, Quality Street etc by guessing / working out the ingredients & how they're cooked. Then they're judged by actual product staff.

Maireas · 22/04/2021 19:11

@SheldonesqueTheSecondComing - I most certainly would not judge you for a crush on Bradley Walsh! He's funny and charming!
I'm watching the jewellery thing but not any of those dramas. All about exams at the moment, I'll be glad when the Yr11 and yr13 leave. So will they!

Cocolapew · 22/04/2021 19:11

I have the biggest crush on Bradley Walsh’s character me too!
I was looking forward to the jewellery one but I can't stand Katherine Ryan so haven't bothered with it.

The jewellery one is all a bit serious.
The judges hardly crack a smile.
If it's going to take off they either need to recast, rescript or do something else to make it more "fun"

SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 19:30

Oh I’m not alone in Bradlove. Thank gawd for that!!! I love to watch him anyway but there is something about Ronnie I love!

I love snackmasters. It is a treat! I cried laughing at the shreddies one this week - a first for the programme indeed!

I love Fred as well. (Not as much as Ronnie!)

I’ve got Glow Up to watch too. (The make up one)

Once I’ve finished blubbing at the Repair Shop...

I’m desperate for them to ask Fern to resurrect the Allotment Challenge Sad

I take my hat off to you maireas

It is folks like you who kept my niece and nephew from breaking during this last year or so thanks to lockdown school. My brother was flat out at work and school was a little bit of normality for them.

You’ve all had so much to deal with - staff and kids - and it must have been so hard to readjust/get back in the swing.

My cap is doffed.

Thank you for all you do maireas ☺️

Maireas · 22/04/2021 19:43

Aw, that's so sweet. How kind. I'm just glad we're all back at school and trying to get normality. All the kids have been great, so resilient, and so happy to be back at school! It's lovely to see them with their mates again. SmileSmile

SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 19:49

It is most deserved. It really is. Smile

It must gladden your heart to be almost back to normal again. Chattering and all Wink

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/04/2021 20:21

I didn’t know you could sew buttons on with a sewing machine !
Slinks to dunces corner to practice threading needles.

Shove up Viques

Which way up does this pointy thing go?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/04/2021 20:27

So is Johannes, I hope they don’t waste them by having them on the same episode!

Unless that episode is the final...

I also luffs Bradley Walsh as Ronnie Brooks - my favourite YV copper!

And what is this "Snackmasters" of which you speak? What channel?

SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 20:29

Room for a huge backside in dunce corner?

I had no idea either.

Buttons are the only thing I can manage. Just. And sticky stuff hems.

I love watching skilled people go about their thing.

I am still struggling to set up the sewing machine I bought 3 years ago...

The sticky stuff won.

RozHuntleysStump · 22/04/2021 21:05

I can’t watch Katherine Ryan since I saw her joke about disabled children.

SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 21:08

Ah now. I’m glad I missed that comment.

I’m already expecting it to be dry kind after the comments above.

Maybe fast forward will be my chum.

Hands off my Ron schadey Grin

Snackmasters is on ch4 and very good.

Horridcreature · 22/04/2021 21:28

I think the jewellery one suffers because not as many people do it at home. lots of people have tried baking, pottery and sewing. They know how hard it can be and admire the skill, or they are very good and can see the mistakes.

I think something like carpentry might be ok - I remember my dreadful efforts at school, but I remember some of the others were great and possibly could have been professional but went off to do more regular jobs

Whatsnewpussyhat · 22/04/2021 21:41

Just caught up.

Can't believe Damian pulled that out of the bag. I thought it was lovely.

The sexy dress was too tight.

Agree about button down dresses being a pain in the arse. I used to have to add concealed poppers between buttons on work blouses which was bad enough.

You need to be overly whacky or have a massive sob story to get on these shows Grin

SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 22:01

My sob story would be I can’t sew...

I’m not sure that would work Grin

Horridcreature · 22/04/2021 22:11

@SheldonesqueTheSecondComing

Surely it is because you lost all your family when you were very young, were learning sewing when you developed a near fatal illness, now you are on sewing bee because you know that your great uncle twice removed loved sewing, so it’s in the genes. Can you find a link to Sir Captain Tom Moore?
SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 22:28

Cant I also have a nan that always loved to sew but lost her fingers due to crossing into another nan’s turf and infiltrated an unscrupulous hardnan’s crochet/knitting ring?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/04/2021 23:04

@RozHuntleysStump

Hmm

I dropped a "friend" when she made a horrible comment about a group of disabled children who were on a school trip to the beach. ("It's disgusting. They shouldn't let them out where normal people are")

They ARE normal people, Christine.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/04/2021 23:06

Hands off my Ron schadey Grin

I would offer to fight you for him, but that would mean getting up off my fat, lazy *rse . . . Grin

PickAChew · 22/04/2021 23:06

My mum just sent me this.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/04/2021 23:12

I went off button-down dresses when a horse pinned me against a wall and bit ^every fcking button* off the front of my dress when I was on my way to college and I had to go straight home past a building site full of jeering, catcalling blokes and never got to class Blush

Bstarding horse limbo-ed under a rope that was across the gate to it's field and chased me down a road until it was able to publicly humiliate me in the above-described fashion. I was scared stiff. I've often wondered if they got it back in the field or if it roamed the streets of Sunderland for decades, stealing sandwiches and trampling pigeons (that horse was EVIL ) I secretly hope it was eaten by whippets or something.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 22/04/2021 23:12

@PickAChew

My mum just sent me this.
Brill!
SheldonesqueTheSecondComing · 22/04/2021 23:20

pickachew

Love that!!!

I adore horses. schadey but they have a queer sense of humour.

You had your dignity stolen.

I look as though I’ve shaved one of those go faster stripes in my eyebrow (that Neds have.)

I am not down wiv da kids. I am not a Ned. I got bapped in the face by a neddy.
