I haven't seen any tennis over the last couple of days. Been viewing care homes for my dad. But I have been score watching and, more importantly, keeping up to speed with everything on MN I'm assuming this fish/lizard creepy thing is the weird mascot that is a regular fixture on the tournament Instagram

It seems his name is Goody!
Also on the Instagram account is a funny clip posted yesterday of Rafa talking to himself. Very funny facial expression

Thanks all. It's not the most fun thing to do (especially as DH & I have to take a lateral flow test at each home we visit and don PPE) but it has to be done because I don't think that dad can safely go back home, even though he wants to. But it's difficult because he can't visit himself, so I feel under more pressure to get it right on his behalf. They are bloody expensive, though!!!!

I see that the French Tennis Federation have barred Benoit and his beard from the Tokyo Olympics because of his disgraceful behaviour, that is not consistent with Olympian ideals. Apparently, he was sent home from the Rio Olympics because of his bad behaviour aswell

DH told me the news about Benoit - I’ve got him well trained! I wonder what he’s been up to now?

There was the spitting in Argentina, then his generally bad tampered antics on court and (alleged) throwing games/matches, together with his SM posts about how crap the tour is, slagging off covid bubbles and generally feeling that he's so hard done by because no one else has suffered since covid began that the FFT have called his behaviour "deeply inappropriate".

Just watched PCB go through to the semis - it was a good match against Diddy Diego - DH must be in a good mood - I tried to engage him in discussion about PCB looking like Dean Gaffney but think that was a step too far! The football is on now!

Vamos Rafa- if he gets through, he will have to play a lot better than he has, to beat Stef. It won't be a repeat of 2018 otherwise (that was quite miserable day, weather wise, iirc).

I just saw a clip of PCB winning his match yesterday- and he hit a ball into the crowd- and my first reaction wasn't 'that might hit someone' it was 'that's not very hygienic'
