Noticed the last thread is almost full

I honestly didn't think Rublev would be ok for that match- but in the end, it was Rafa who just seemed to forget how to pla. . I know his serve is probably the weakest bit of his game, but it was Zverev-like today.

I do like Andrey- and I suppose the fact a second Masters on the trot is going to be won by someone new is a good thing for tennis, going forward.

I hope Rafa can get himself together for Barcelona next week.

Oh dear Foggy's in trouble again for swearing! Prime just showed the umpire repeatedly saying bullshit, Foggy arguing and Jerry Armstrong (the tournament referee) laughing behind his mask

The bits I saw of Foggy's match were very Foggy. He smashed a racquet- which is not unusual. .

Ruud has now beaten him 3 times- so kudos to Casper, who has shown he can tune out the antics of Foggy on the other side of the court! .

I think it was in the doubles Raahh but yes I think Foggy is like that in most of his matches!

Oh that makes sense- I forgot he was playing doubles after.

I have seen a few lengthy debates over lines in the clay though this week- when I turned over to Dan's doubles match, he was in the middle of a conflab over a disputed call

Yes, Dan had a few calls that went against him, especially in his singles match. I think it must have been the same umpire for his doubles because there was another dubious call against him and Dan said - I'm not going to argue with you again today....
Don't know why Hawkeye isn't used to clear up disputes.

I'm not much of a Foggy fan really- I'm with Tim, Foggy seems to pick and choose when he can be bothered to play. He got a bit lucky in 2019 really,imo. (Which means nothing, because I'm a Rafa fan ).
He is very temperamental.
Hawkeye on clay is a tricky issue really- since the mark on clay is not a sharp one.

I've a feeling this might be a match too far. And he's played a lot, what with the doubles.

I detected a slight dig at Djok earlier (though I think it was unintentional) when Petch (?)said something about this being the best player Dan faced all week. He might have meant it, in terms of how Stef is playing, versus how Djok played - but Djok was just out played, he certainly didn't lose in the same way Rafa did (that was a bad match, Rafa- he declared his serve 'a disaster'

I think Rublev could be the favourite for the tournament now. He is clearly one of those players who just has a naturally 'knackered' look about him . It's quite deceptive.

I would love my favourite Norwegian Casper to win though.

Actually, it's quite nice to think I don't mind who wins, really. It's a lot less stressful. .

Well done Stef, that was a pretty comprehensive win. But Dan has proved he can play with the top players, this week.

It was really well done- from both of them- but it showed that Dan didn't dwell on the earlier loss.

2 finals in 2 tournaments- that's not bad at all.
