I’m watching on catch up - Tracy in labour. It’s so bloody weird nobody is supporting her physically. I know they can’t- social distancing. It just looks so wrong.

Also what a big useless lump of shite Nate is.

JackieWeaverIsTheAuthority · 26/02/2021 22:53

Oh how convenient that Juliette decides she isn’t “feeling it” with Carl. Hmm that packaged things back up all nice again for Jimmy.

JaneJeffer · 27/02/2021 00:01

I doubt that's the end of it. Probably just the start of a story which will be dragged out for the rest of Carl's life until we're screaming for mercy.

I was delighted that Tracy had her baby so we don't have to hear about her pregnancy any more but now bloody Gabby has started where she left off.

BlueThistles · 27/02/2021 01:30

Juliette just took a child from him home right???

UhtredRagnarson · 27/02/2021 01:33

She took him from the bus stop I think. And rather than take him home or call his parents she took him for a milkshake- as you do.

UhtredRagnarson · 27/02/2021 01:35

I don’t get the whole “I’m not feeling it” thing from Juliette after her contact meeting with Carl. She had already had spent 1:1 time with him twice so she’d know already whether he felt like just any other child. Why are they trying to make out the meeting in the hide was her first time getting to know him?

very strange... so what was the point 🤔

SophieB100 · 27/02/2021 06:50

I think it'll go quiet with Juliette for a while, then suddenly Jimmy and Nico will get hit with a custody battle or something.
Dingle Court! Yeah, right...
And Paul can just do one, brings me out in hives...

RaraRachael · 27/02/2021 11:26

So how long was Juliette Carl's "mum" for before she turned up saying she couldn't cope with him?

Sorry I can't be convinced that Faith is a great character or hilarious. I can't believe she's only a year older than me Confused

UhtredRagnarson · 27/02/2021 11:54

Can’t stand faith. Why did she need to come back? Get rid. Along with Mandy and co.

Cain falling out with Nate again? Yawn. Try something new, writers!

BlueThistles · 27/02/2021 14:22

Dingle Court makes me cringe from my toes up to my ears... hypocrites the lot of them... trying to hold the moral high ground whilst having the character of a guttersnipe ... awful writing ... a 10 year old could write better scripts than this 😳

UhtredRagnarson · 27/02/2021 17:11

I’ve just cried my eyes out with laughter at emmerdale soapy slip ups on you tube. In the scene where Andy finds out Robert killed Katy he phoned the police on his mobile but Kelvin actually dialled 999 and said “police” when the operator asked what service he required! 😂😂😂

the outtakes are brilliant... I wish just once they'd leave one in for the viewer 🤣

UhtredRagnarson · 27/02/2021 20:44

It would massively improve the current offerings! Grin

JaneJeffer · 27/02/2021 21:05

They often leave stuff in which I love.

TheJunctionBaby · 28/02/2021 01:13

Nate and Tracy's baby is beautiful

JaneJeffer · 28/02/2021 13:48

It's a gorgeous baby but will probably be invisible from now on like Harry and Eve.

StillCoughingandLaughing · 28/02/2021 15:00

The problem with babies and toddlers in soap is that there’s very little writers can do with them. They can only get kidnapped or develop life-threatening illnesses so many times. They’re really a bit of a scripting problem, as it always needs to be explained who’s looking after the baby - plus, if they are shown, it means having their parents or chaperones on set. Hence most soap babies spend a very long time upstairs.

Agree. But “dramatic pregnancy” is such an easy storyline for them. And they don’t think beyond the birth to the issues you have raised. They rely on this theme far too much instead of being original. It’s tiresome.
JaneJeffer · 28/02/2021 15:14

@StillCoughingandLaughing I just meant because of Covid. I don't expect the babies to have a storyline but little Lily who played Seb was a better actor than some people on there now Grin

StillCoughingandLaughing · 28/02/2021 16:26

Well, to be fair she hadn’t got a lot of competition Grin

I read an interview with one of the veteran Emmerdale writers a few years ago - one who’d been there since the two episodes a week days. He said pregnancy is the hardest thing for storyliners to manage since the increase in episodes. Affairs, feuds etc. can be sped up - but a pregnancy will always last nine months, yet has to feature in three times as many episodes.

Yet again someone in hospital wearing a hospital gown for no reason. She was only having a baby, you don't wear gowns for that. It annoys me every time, it isn't as if you won't realise they're in hospital without it

JaneJeffer · 28/02/2021 18:51

I was put in a gown when I had DS2.

excelledyourself · 28/02/2021 18:56

I wore a gown having my DS. Thought that was normal. What do people usually wear?
