@DanielODonkey absolutely - only 2 and a half landmarks and they still got it wrong!

We used to sail dinghys on Strangford Lough and my brother used to wind my mother up by sailing out out sight round an island then tack and dither so she would worry when he didn't reappear on the other side.

Ikora · 05/03/2021 15:47

I just watched all the episodes. Are there more episodes due?

Cocolapew · 05/03/2021 15:48

I think there's 4 altogether

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/03/2021 07:41

2 more to go

Do after that shocking shooting last week

Tom launches a manhunt for Adam Corey as it appears that Goliath is at large again

Place marking to read later as I've now watched both episodes.

PatNextDoor · 07/03/2021 10:49

Here's my wild theory: could the reason Tom was so blase about leaving his freshly traumatised daughter in the house alone be because he organised the kidnapping as a red herring - and therefore knew she wasn't in any immediate danger?

Also totally agree about the clunky necklaces. I'm hoping the E for Emma on the back stands for something else.

LadyEloise · 07/03/2021 11:04

But didn't Tom kill Adam Corey ?

Surely they were seen going to the island ?

ChequerBoard · 07/03/2021 11:54

YY wasn't that Adam Corey (Grandaddy from Derry Girls) that was shot at the end of the last episode?

So it's a fake manhunt to cover his tracks presumably.

NewModelArmyMayhem18 · 07/03/2021 12:11

Do we know he was shot dead though? Yes, a bit of a risk given that the island was easily visible from the farm. And surely they'd have heard a shot from that distance (a silencer wasn't it used was it)?

Of course the ultimate in plot turns is that it's the doctor who's Goliath!

Chicchicchicchiclana · 07/03/2021 12:52

I watched both episodes yesterday. Can't say I love it and can't say I particularly enjoy Jimmy Nesbitt's performance.

As ever, I get really distracted when these stories push the boundaries of believability. Nesbitt's character Brannick opens the old man's diary when he's at his house first time and is exactly on the page to explain the crucial bit of plot in perfect handwriting so that it can easily be read.

Someone takes a mobile phone picture of the motorcycle outside the cafe where Keenan had been, 2 minutes later Brannick and Niamh are in the car when the motorcycle is picked up, they managed to track him down, follow him, he leads them directly to the wife of one of the dead men and the assassin goes to shoot her but they rescue her just in time.
Uh huh. Luckily Brannick was also right there at the very moment the youths petrol bombed the police car.

The necklace!! So clunky, such a tired old plot device, honestly I would have expected better. And of course when Brannick didn't go to pieces at the sight of that necklace on the skeleton we all knew that he knew it wasn't her and there was much more to the story.

The doctor might as well have had a spotlight on her as she walked into shot by the hospital lifts and a big klaxon sounding "Jimmy Nesbitt's future love interest is here everybody!".

Anyway, those are my gripes so far. I hate plots that just rely on coincidence or nonsense. I think it is a sign of weak writing.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 07/03/2021 12:55

I'd be grateful if someone can explain these bits to me though

  1. Why was Pat Keenan kidnapped and by who? Why was the device on the door fake? Why was he let go?
  1. I think for most of eps 1 and 2 we are supposed to think Twomey (Lorcan Cranitch) might be Goliath? What was happening in that scene, just him, where he went to a caravan, found a brand new burner phone in a cupboard, and answered it?
Blondeshavemorefun · 07/03/2021 13:14

We don’t know no 1. But prob to start the investigation open again 20yrs later

I posted my theories on Monday but they are just theories, we don't know for definite yet.
Chicchicchicchiclana · 07/03/2021 17:24

Thanks Dugee - just went back to your post. Great theories!

Is anyone actually enjoying this? We've just given up half way through tonight's episode.

enjoyingscience · 07/03/2021 21:56

I was quite enjoying it, and was properly surprised by the twist last week, but this week is just a bit blah.

absolutetelynotfabulous · 07/03/2021 21:59

I'm getting quite interested now....

DuncinToffee · 07/03/2021 22:07

Mmm, nah, thought this was getting a bit far fetched and too many stares.

Zog14 · 07/03/2021 22:07

Anyone know when episode 3 goes onto iplayer?

Zog14 · 07/03/2021 22:11

Just arrived

PrancingQueen · 07/03/2021 22:25

Ok now it’s driving me mad.
Jimmy Nesbit is awful and his character is repulsive.
Niamh had better start working things out quickly as the wrong man can’t go down for this.

vjg13 · 07/03/2021 22:31

It was rubbish tonight. Lots of ridiculous long lingering looks!
