I couldn't see another thread so I thought I'd start one

It’s just been dire this year, the main source of conversation has been about who has dropped out and why the judges have got such sour faces!
I’m not enjoying it because I don’t know who most of the professional skaters are nor half of the celebrities.
It shouldn’t have gone ahead really.

There’s a curse for sure this year, but it’s not the same one Strictly is rumoured to have...

Someone just posted this on Facebook, I won’t click as it’s a scum link, but going to google now to see if there’s any truth in it...
Actually no one I know has posted it, it’s just been suggested to me as something I might like to follow (I wouldn’t).

I’m confused as to who Faye is skating with. Hamish was injured so she was partnered with Matt, but now Hamish is quoted as saying he’ll be back on February 28.

Maybe Hamish will be back for the pro-skaters skates. But can’t be Faye’s partner as his hand injury means no lifts or other couples elements that involve his hands.

Faye is always very gracious about the comments she gets. (I think I'd be getting a bit sulkier by now if I were in her position, given the seeming bias against her shown by the judges!)

Yes, they really must be disheartening, the comments she gets. It seems to be, 'well you're the best so you need to be better.'

And not giving her and Hamish any credit for what they have done. I think they were undermarked , especially last week.

I do feel that once your highly trained and fit professional athletes are giving themselves disastrous injuries by putting on their socks then the time has come to admit that your show is under a curse.

My first thought was genuinely that you meant Coleen Nolan - she looks like a woman who could hold a grudge for a long time, and probably thought that her position of Queen of People’s Hearts would sweep her to victory despite her total inability to stand upright on ice without support.

That’s probably less convoluted a motive than Coleen Rooney though. Talk me through your thinking? I’m open to all motives however batshit.

I agree about Nolan. Kim woodburn is batshit but Coleen lost me at the setting her up on loose women.

You’re right TheChosenTwo. Pammie was on DOI ages ago when she was past her peak but still had massive name recognition factor in the UK - arguably the most famous person they’ve ever had on? (Jason Donovan being a close second - but I’m not as on top of my DOI stats as I am SCD so I may have forgotten that time George Clooney did the show).

Huge build up, completely mediocre performance - not even memorably shit. What I’d forgotten until I googled it just now is that she was beaten in the skate off by Keith Chegwin

I think they’ll cut their losses and discontinue this series (or at least they may as well.)

So Joe-Warren and Vanessa are back after previously being out. Looks like the one week break has been orchestrated to enable them both to recover from covid.

But, surely this is very unfair on the others who have had to pull out due to injury or covid? No-one else is being invited back.
