I was rooting for Cyrell the whole way until last night, absolutely back stabbed Nic. “You don’t have my back” is her go to phrase with Nic, well love you clearly don’t have his!

LucyLane · 09/02/2021 08:28

If Nic was wavering before this week, I can only imagine meeting Cyrell's brother will ensure he finishes the relationship. Ivan is the worst type of man- an arrogant, ignorant, misinformed, misogynistic, tin pot Napoleon. Why would Nic, who isn't naturally argumentative or confrontational want to deal with him in his relationship, when he's not even that sure about Cyrell.

Nic is just a thoroughly decent guy and he has no moral duty to stay with Cyrell, especially after she told a very unbalanced version of events to Ivan, knowing exactly what Ivan is like. Ivan didn't actually listen or understand what had happened with the alleged foot rubbing incident. He just heard some key words and off he went like a bull in a china shop. The moment Cyrell chose to tell Ivan an inaccurate story about Nic, she CHOSE her family over Nic. Run Nic!

happinessischocolate · 09/02/2021 09:02

I love Mick even more after seeing him with Jess' family, I've no idea what Jess said in the conversation with her sister because I can't be doing with her shit so just fast forwarded through it 😁

Snakebyte · 09/02/2021 09:36

Nic was out of the relationship anyway. He likes Cyrell a lot but he knows he ultimately does not want that drama. He is finding it hard to break the tie because of his fondness of Cyrell and the fact that she tried so hard and is quite vulnerable. I think Ivan can see that Nic is not wholeheartedly in it and therefore feels he can protect Cyrell better by bringing it to a close now rather than later. Maybe he's right. Don't like his attitude or approach though or the premise that a family member has so much agency is another's relationship.

Silenceisgolden20 · 09/02/2021 09:38

Ypu can see why Cyrell is single if all her relationships are vetted by her brother.
Very strange dynamics in the family it's non of his business. Why is she even discussing it with him? (Apart from the tv drama!)

She's ber child like

Her sister said yeah think of your happiness!!! Never mind it's someone else's husband. Jesus! But then they do need to end up together because they are both shit and it won't work so then they can see that themselves.
Italiangreyhound · 09/02/2021 09:55

I think Ivan behaved appallingly. However, it he can break them up so easily- there really is nothing to break up.

I loved the big dinner party with Jess's tough rough looking family. Mick says the brother looked s bit if dickhead and brother said something like 'yeah, I probably did have too much to drink!'

So no drama there.

I do find Can and Jules so boring. Their parents are lovely, their homes are lovely, they have good jobs etc. It must really rub it in the faces of the other contestants.

I do wonder if cheating I'd more common in Australia. A lot of the women seem to have issues with being cheated on or let down in some way. But then here we have (in the programme) cheating kind of glorified!! Sneaking around, ha ha, I came here for love so it doesn't matter who I step on to get it!!!

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 09/02/2021 10:24

Oh for the love of all that is holy. I missed the big dinner party with instajess’s hardbro and hardda.

I must have had nodded off for a minute or two 😫😢

servetheservants

Now get ya shit and fuck off!”

Pretty much what was going through Suzie’s head about Billy I reckon... with actual 💩

OP posts:
TitsInAbsentia · 09/02/2021 10:53

Oh yeah lashes told Billy exactly what she thought of him with one simple move! Can't wait for crazy dad 's pep talk to him later.

Jess looking for validation from her sister just goes further to prove she knows she is so in the wrong but if someone else has told you to go for it you feel justified.

JaneJeffer · 09/02/2021 10:58

Jess is going to be bored of Daaan after a week. He has absolutely nothing to say unless he's trying to get his leg over.

Cyrell was freaking out about no one showing up and when they did she said oh Filipinos are always late. If she knows that why was she getting so stressed Hmm

happinessischocolate · 09/02/2021 11:04

Dan and Tamara

If you were on a reality show and your new husband is being filmed taking a private phone call, wouldn't that alert you to the fact there's something going on that you don't know about????

TitsInAbsentia · 09/02/2021 11:12

I feel strangely comforted that Ivan the Diminutive is staying true to his initial tack of trying to keep his sister single and under his control, would have been far more shocking for a 360 turn and a huge welcome to the family. It easily seals the deal for Nic, hope Cyril writes leave this week so Nic can move on.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 09/02/2021 11:17

I don’t thing Cyrell was bothered so much about a no show/lateness.

For tinyIVAN to be so defensive almost from the get go, one would wonder if ole Cyril has been chopsing in the style of Melissa.

If he just got the hump at Nic saying they’d had ups and downs, then there is a nasty element there.

If Cyrell has been talking, did she do so when she was super angry? Nic didn’t stand a chance.

But bleating on about Nic not having her back all the time and then casually pushing him under the bus? Shame on you.

I did like her (not the volcanic outbursts) as her moral compass seemed to be bob on.

Just snakey and sly in a different way sadly.

I will have more respect for her if she tears her brother a new one tonight. I can’t see it though.

Anyway, the time to do that was at the dinner table in front of everyone. Nic had to take a public chewing. She should have defended him then.

I’m so disappointed that she was mute.

Ah for sure Cyrell has been on the phone ranting to Ivan the Diminutive (aka tinyIvan, tin pot Napoleon....there are some awesome names out there!) - I've seen this so many times before with friends in the vein of "I don't understand why my parents don't like my boyfriend" well maybe it's because you are on the phone biatching about them so you are giving them a one sided picture of him.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 09/02/2021 11:48

The only thing about that exchange between Ivan and Nic that gladdened my soul?

As he stomped off like a ragey minion (same neck to body ratio), he made off like the big Iyam and thought he was the nuts.

And missed the basketball hoop Grin

All the wives have lovely homes, they're like showhomes! Do they all have a fair bit of money, or is that just an average home over in Aus?!

They must all be messaging each other while they're doing the homestays - I think Nic and Mick need to plan to escape together, they'd have a far better time!

@SheldonesqueIsUnwell yes, that made me laugh when he missed the hoop - hopefully Nic saw it and laughed too!

happinessischocolate · 09/02/2021 12:17

I've said it before and I think it's becoming more apparent that Heidi is the one with control issues not Mike. She couldn't even leave him to just peel the ginger, she gets frustrated if anything isn't done how she wants it done.

Also Cam and Jules has an argument, Jules got really stroppy I would have too 😂 but then she got over it, if that had been Heidi she would have gone on for hours about how in the wrong Mike was, and how he doesn't listen or understand her.

JaneJeffer · 09/02/2021 12:21

Mike will starve to death living with Heidi.

I thought that about the houses too @theliverpoolone

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 09/02/2021 12:23

I’d have preferred him to peel it with a spoon or knife as well.

I’ll take the shame on the control freakery on that one.

She may also be aware of where his paws have been...

She didn’t listen about the rice though. What was that?

OP posts:
SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 09/02/2021 12:23

She looked totally ill at ease cooking as well. Does she not eat at home?

OP posts:
Bettina500 · 09/02/2021 12:38

I noticed Ivan missed the hoop too Grin

I wouldn't really want someone peeling food I was going to eat with their fingernails either, but yes she does come across as a bit controlling.

theliverpoolone · 09/02/2021 12:45

Heidi seems to have no self-awareness, despite all of her analysing of everything - I'd be inclined to be a bit controlling too, in a kitchen scenario, but I'd definitely tone it down if I had TV cameras pointed at me.

doghairismyglitter · 09/02/2021 12:53

I loved Heidi to start with and really disliked Mike; but now I think Mike is actively trying to change and be more self aware. Heidi would be a nightmare to live with. Aside from the fact she doesn’t even know how to cook rice Shock she was so over the top and nagging about the ginger, she over analyses everything and she really does drone on and on. I tune out now when she talks, it’s just never ending. And she makes real mountains out of molehills. So when a bigger issue does come along, no partner would take much notice as she’s played the “I’m upset and we need to discuss this in length” card way too often. I started really going off her when she forbid Mike from talking to Jess without her being present, very odd behaviour.

ServeTheServants · 09/02/2021 12:54

@SheldonesqueIsUnwell yes, Ivannabetaller missing the hoop was poetic justice at its best

Silenceisgolden20 · 09/02/2021 12:58

I thought the way Heidi was with Mike at the dinner party over who he could talk to without her was controlling and if that was a man doing that, it would be picked up on.

On another note, how much ginger was it that dinner??? Shock
