What TV adverts do you hate seeing?

The Nationwide ones with the poems are so annoying. We have our mortgage with them and I've thought about switching to another provider just because their ads are so annoying!!

The golden age of tv advertising seems to be over though. I remember growing up in the 80s and 90s and the adverts were better than the programmes sometimes! I have fond memories of many of them (Levis, yellow pages, galaxy, Dudley Moore finding chickens and tiramisu for tescos, the Honey Monster!!)

A Vodafone one ( I think ).
A woman sits and thinks. .
Wanders off to an attic.
Looks at a book.
I don't know what happens next.
I don't care.
I usually watch something I've recorded so skip the ads. That ad seems to go on forever.

Has anyone seen the new Halifax advert with the Oasis song?

It features all the ups and downs of life and is supposed to be all sentimental, but it’s cloying and shit. The usual bank ad. But I’m really upset that they’ve chosen to use a couple overcoming a miscarriage as one of the themes in their advert. The tag line is ‘it’s a we’ll try again thing’. Maybe I’m just oversensitive on the subject but I found it massively upsetting to have to think about this when I’m just trying to relax and watch some crap TV.

I don't watch live TV, only the odd catchup, so don't know if they do the same but the last week's ads have been horrendous - at the beginning AND end of every ad break was the same sponsored car ad, in which a screaming vampire (?) appears in the passenger seat, and the car then drives into what looks like a post-apocalyptic city. What the fuck they are trying to say is beyond me, and I can't believe someone got paid to come up with it.
