Somebody upthread guessed Keely Hawes for Harlequin, I think? I hope it was a joke. Keely would have to have been ‘resting’ for a few years before she did a show like this!

Morten must just be doing it for the laughs.

There was reference to a/the bodyguard in the clues I think. I must admit I said Keely Hawes automatically and then realised that was fairly unlikely.

Alexandra Burke a decent guess though.

I do agree the singing sounds like Gabrielle but I need to be convinced any of the clues fit.

Just seen on another forum that in Bushbabys clue package last night, there was a pair of socks hanging on a tree - clue to Cold Feet maybe leading back to John Thomson?

I tend to watch it on delay and have found myself fast forwarding through the judge's comments as most are so ridiculous it's not worth listening to them. They are obviously told to guess incorrectly and I know from this thread that where they have mentioned the correct person ie SEB it was edited out. Why? It makes the judges' role pointless.

If it IS Morten, then he sounds nervous when he sings. His voice wobbles. Surely Morten would be used to singing live?

He can be a bit hit and miss. In the MTV unplugged he is amazing but I have heard other performances were he is a bit 'off'

So have been reading the round-up of Viking's clues on the Radio Times website:

It says Viking emerged from a castle called King's Rock - Morten was born in Kongsberg which apparently translates as King's Rock??

He's used to singing his own songs though so that could make a difference.

I think some of them try to disguise their voices or deliberately sound worse. Last series some of them were a bit off then blew everyone away in the last couple of rounds.

That or the giant head things make it difficult to sing properly.

I was wondering whether there is also a clue in that he looks in the clip like he's at the foot of a mountain, and one of a-ha's later album's was "Foot of the Mountain".

I agree that he’ll probably step it up in the coming rounds, then sing beautifully in the final. Morten for the win!

Morten tends to struggle with sound quality, during a-ha concerts its really common to see him fiddling with the earpiece.

Also, the man is 61! It is a miracle that he is still hitting those notes. He is a legendary high tenor but there are all kinds of singers who can’t hit the same notes they used to. Rod Stewart sings ‘You wear it well’ to an adapted tune now.
