Interesting. They probably said half Asian to try and get away with that actor playing the part.

There were a few odd inaccuracies. I don't understand why they changed the nationality of the French students in real life, to German in the series, for example.

I know they changed details to protect families, fair enough. But that wasn't specific to any individual.

I think it was too difficult to find an Asian actor who was culturally French like Sobhraj and also a fluent French speaker. I thought Tahir did a great job though.

They were incredibly lucky to get a culturally Quebecois actress that speaks fluent French in that case 😂

Tahir is French Algerian, so I guess that does make him culturally French. Gemma Coleman's casting is another story
