I don't get why they aren't sending one home?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/01/2021 20:58

Peter to go, I think - Alon will have a lucky escape - again.

Wolfcub · 31/01/2021 20:59

Omg Dolly. I couldn't t be more in love with this programme

AaronPurr · 31/01/2021 20:59

@SoupDragon

I don't get why they aren't sending one home?
Me either. I'm also super confused about the 7 day break. Confused
Nydj · 31/01/2021 20:59

@Sunbird24

Alon’s actually been a bit clever, his pot design was perfect for the tongs
That’s a good point
SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/01/2021 21:00

Oh - they aren't sending anyone home! Thank heavens!

And Hannah really deserved that Potter of the Week accolade.

Brilliant!

Sunbird24 · 31/01/2021 21:00

See you all next week for what look like shapely busts!

SoupDragon · 31/01/2021 21:00

I assume someone in the crew had to isolate - there was a period where it was 7 days wasn't there?

Nydj · 31/01/2021 21:01

I’m not a fan of the look of naked raku so I liked Shenyu’s pots the best.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 31/01/2021 21:01

Well - that was exciting!

See you all next week, people.

AaronPurr · 31/01/2021 21:02

@SoupDragon

I assume someone in the crew had to isolate - there was a period where it was 7 days wasn't there?
Oh that might be it. It's been such an odd year with so many changes I can barely keep up. Grin
SoupDragon · 31/01/2021 21:03

I vaguely remember it being shortened at some point for specific circumstances but I'm not entirely sure.

SimonJT · 31/01/2021 21:05

It could also be someone being tested.

We had an eight day isolation in October as isolation was based on being near said person just under 48 hours before they developed symptoms. It took so long to get their results we only had to isolate for eight days.

I have probably explained that awfully.

alienspiderbee · 31/01/2021 21:42

Does anyone know when it's available on catchup?

SoupDragon · 01/02/2021 08:42

It's on All4 now.

SheldonesqueIsUnwell · 01/02/2021 13:49

I loved this week.

I’d have had all of these. I especially love the feathery ones.

Of course Alon took a risk Grin. It was lush.

Same with Hannah. And the smoky bum ones by Shenyu.

Sal. I’m not posh. I’m not rich. I haven’t got a kiln. But if I’m ever in the market for a resident potter, I’d like it to be you.

I’m so pleased no one went. I liked all of them. It was the only right thing to do but I don’t understand why as I missed the start. (Bodged recording)

IntermittentParps · 02/02/2021 10:42

I assume the 7 day break meant someone was ill or at least had to isolate. Am also assuming it was crew, not cast, or surely it'd have made it to the media?
I loved the feather effect from the ones that fell off Jodie's. I don't get why that was a 'mistake'. Shenyu's were so beautiful and elegant. Loved the bubbly effect of Alon's but didn't like the form of the actual vessels.
Peter did dodge a bullet and I think he'll raise his game next week.

SoupDragon · 02/02/2021 11:09

It was a mistake simply because it wasn't what she intended I think. It worked so well on the finished item though.

SoupDragon · 02/02/2021 11:10

I get why there was a break, I just don't understand why it meant they didn't send someone home given it happened when all the challenges were complete. I wonder if it means they'll send 2 home next week\at some point or have an extra in the final.

Egghead68 · 03/02/2021 07:15

I don’t know why they even had to mention the 7-day break. It didn’t seem to affect the finished programme. Also don’t understand why it meant no one went home.

SoupDragon · 03/02/2021 09:11

I suppose the mentioned it for completeness, maybe to show that they were taking Covid seriously... once they'd decided to not send anyone home I guess they had to mention it as the explanation though. The voice over will have been added much later after filming.

IntermittentParps · 03/02/2021 09:18

Soup, yes, it was very weird and as it didn't seem to have any effect I don't know why they did it, or mentioned it.
I think they were probably just being nice, strange as that seems to cynical old me Grin –maybe if someone was ill and everyone spent days worrying about them, they just thought they'd give them all a break from the emotion of being the one sent home/seeing a friend sent home.

knittingaddict · 04/02/2021 09:41

They've done that before - not send anyone home because they had all been very good or equally bad. I don't think the 7 day gap had anything to do with their decisions and assume it was someone in the crew suspected of having covid. If I remember correctly they send two home in the next week.

Threeleaper · 06/02/2021 00:20

Can I just ask, is that Rich the former kiln tech and new judge in the opening credits? I’ve always thought the potter in the credits sequence had the most beautiful hands and thought it might have been him, and was trying to get a good look at his hands in the most recent episode...?

salsmum · 06/02/2021 02:39

Is it only me who sees Ross King every time I look at the eldest potter?
