Starts 10th January 7:45pm

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 18/01/2021 16:19

I thought the mushrooms had far more work in them than the lighthouse.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 18/01/2021 18:24

I must admit I found the fairy house a bit twee, brilliant executed as it was.

Horehound · 18/01/2021 19:35

I loved the mushroom fairy house.

emotionalpuddle · 18/01/2021 20:27

Finally caught up! (I forgot it was on on Sunday 🤦🏼‍♀️) I think Adams fairy house or Sal's should have won. The light house wasn't particularly special in my opinion. I'm thoroughly enjoying this series!!

BrassicaBabe · 18/01/2021 20:49

I want clay building with a light GrinGrin

I want clay building with a light

I'm sure they used to be a thing possibly in the 80s I seem to remember my parents having one, it may have been a windmill.

I have a clay/pot Christmas tree filled with bears! I painted it myself many years ago 🙈
Whitney168 · 18/01/2021 21:13

This crying judge is so put on, he drives me mad!

LaBelleSauvage123 · 18/01/2021 21:47

I woke up in the middle of the night and watched a YouTube video about how to make a tiny clay house with air drying clay. That’s how invested I am.

Weepy Keef gets on my mammary glands as well! Hmm
SchadenfreudePersonified · 19/01/2021 09:59

That sounds lovely! Do you have a photo?

SoupDragon · 19/01/2021 11:01

As someone who cries at the drop of a hat, I love that Keith isn't worried about doing it on TV.

pinbinpin · 19/01/2021 11:03

me too - comes across as fairly genuine to me - though probably doesnt hold back a bit for TV.

I have a friend who is a musician and he cries when people play music very well - i think some artistic types are really moved by the art being done well.

MoltenLasagne · 19/01/2021 11:08

The men in my family are weepers - big builder types crying at anything slightly sentimental - so I don't think Keith's putting it on. DH comments he must be a relative of mine whenever he wells up.

It is odd how many people on MN who dislike humans having normal human emotions.
Whitney168 · 19/01/2021 11:43

Oh, I've nothing against weepers at all, am a dreadful one myself at the most ridiculous things.

My issue with this one is that it looks totally fake.

SoupDragon · 19/01/2021 12:01

I think it looks totally genuine

SheldonesqueIsAnExVirgin · 19/01/2021 13:16

The mushroom house was lovely.
Likewise the lighthouse. And being from that neck, I love the castle.

My favourite was Sal’s. Love her. Loved her creation. It deserved a crynkeef. And to win.

The right ta-ra Chuck was ta-ra’d.

SheldonesqueIsAnExVirgin · 19/01/2021 13:17

I wouldn’t have picked the lighthouse to win. Love it though I did.

IntermittentParps · 19/01/2021 13:19

Adam's fairy house was a bit twee for me, but beautifully made and detailed, so good on him.

Alon was an eejit putting slip on at that stage. He dodged a bullet not being kicked out.

I'll miss Irina. She's mad as a box of frogs and I was loving her.

Lee is a sweetheart. His building was a bit dull but I liked it.

Am tired of the Scottish woman.

Sal's was better than Jodie's IMO. Really looks like exactly that kind of building; it was SO well observed, as well as being technically excellent.

Didn't like Henry's building 'mash-up'.

Can't remember anyone else.

Rich was quite funny this week. Siobhan is still a bit loud and attention-seeking. Love Rose's look again.

Mykittensmittens · 19/01/2021 13:26

I’m sitting looking at the potbanks outside the Gladstone (where this is filmed) out of my window now. My house is visible on the opening credits!

It’s a fab place to visit (out of lockdown of course) and it really does rely on people coming to stay open. They have a good FB page with interesting daily posts too.

weaselwords · 19/01/2021 13:51

@IntermittentParps I agree with everything you say apart from the Scottish woman. I just don’t think we’ve seen her shine yet.

Alon frustrates me as his could have been so good. He’s relying too much on happy accidents, which worked the first week but not this time. Saying that, I bet he does lovely raking stuff as that relies on happy accidents Grin

IntermittentParps · 19/01/2021 13:54

weasel, I know this is me being a miserable moo, but her chirpiness is starting to grate on me!

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 19/01/2021 14:20

I loved the mushroom fairy house.

The whale slip was a really stupid choice. I'm surprised he lives to fight another day.

redsquirrelfan · 19/01/2021 17:40

@Akire

Some houses were amazing, I did think brick task was unfair on women as very muscular job having to throw that much clay. Especially as benches are quite high for women, as was shown in results all but one man in bottom half.
Yes my husband said that too - wondered whether any women would be in the top half - not many!

I liked the lighthouse, he liked the mushrooms. Oh well.
