I’m 30 and have a crush on the judge. Help me 😂🙈

LaChatte · 19/01/2021 19:55

Keith is great, he kept me going through the first lockdown with his regular videos on FB.

LaBelleSauvage123 · 19/01/2021 21:10

I think his crying is genuine too.

longtompot · 20/01/2021 11:08

@LaBelleSauvage123

I woke up in the middle of the night and watched a YouTube video about how to make a tiny clay house with air drying clay. That’s how invested I am.
Whilst reading this thread and after watching Sunday's episode, I was thinking the very same thing. I think Alon survived another week because he does take risks. Ok, this weeks didn't pay off but it did last week. I suspect if he does the same next week and it doesn't work, then he might be going. I was torn between the Cornish mine, the stunning fairy house, and the lighthouse for the star potter. I know Sal won last week, but how she did the windows and the little door slightly ajar so the beam of light shone out. Just beautiful. Keith did bemuse me in the very first series with his sudden crying and not getting words out, but it does look genuine to me. It did amuse me with both him and Sal crying at her creation (I keep wanting to say bake Grin )

God that brick task was boring! Do you think they are running out of ideas for challenges?

Very glad Irina has gone, she irritated me immensely (along with a few others, including crying Keith. Nobody can be that moved with such alarming frequency, he comes across as a fool and attention seeker).

Wonder how he gets through the day? Does he sob as he goes around Waitrose because of the beautiful way they’ve arranged the peaches?

SoupDragon · 20/01/2021 19:25

They seemed to have a lot of fun with the bricks though.

SoupDragon · 20/01/2021 19:27

Unlikely given he is passionate about making pottery, not peach arranging.

IntermittentParps · 21/01/2021 13:02

I thought the brick challenge was fascinating and massively enjoyable. It was very satisfying to watch all the scooping and the turning out. I assume it's a technique that's been around for a long time as well, so it felt quite educational; I've never really thought about how bricks are made before.

SoupDragon · 21/01/2021 14:02

Can you imagine the Labour involved in making bricks for a whole house?!

TheSpottedZebra · 21/01/2021 14:36

It would be unbelievable, Soup (mind you, so was the labour involved in doing more domestic tasks, such as laundry or keeping a house warm!).

We have some handmade bricks in a wall in our garden. The house itself is much newer. I now look on those bricks with such fondness and admiration.

I’m from Pakistan, a good number of bricks are still made this way, I was only eight when we left but I do remember brick making. Some were fired, other types were dried in the sun.

Enjoying it! Love Keith and the fact he is so passionate about clay. I think his tears are genuine. He's lovely

Mydogisagentleman · 21/01/2021 19:13

I watched both episodes today. I’m overjoyed to have found something to replace bake off and sewing bee.
Love sister Michael and both of the other two judges.

Chemenger · 23/01/2021 09:17

The Throwdown is a little bit of joy in what have become very monochrome weeks.

SheldonesqueIsAnExVirgin · 23/01/2021 10:35

Indeed it has chemenger

Bakers. Potters. Sewers. Interior designers. Dog groomers. Sorted.

All I really need is Fern to come back with her allotment challenge and I would be like the proverbial pig.

SoupDragon · 23/01/2021 10:52

Do you think there will be a Sewing Bee this year?

SoupDragon · 23/01/2021 10:55

The pages for applications say You must be able to commit to all the filming days which are currently expected to be during September, October, November 2020. Please note that there is uncertainty at the moment in relation to filming dates due to COVID-19. but I can't see if it was filmed or not.

Nearly Pottery Sunday again though!

terrywynne · 23/01/2021 11:05

But late catching up with you all! My biggest concern was that Alon is training as an architect yet claimed early on that his houses would be ok at an angle because he was building them upright so they would be structurally sound (or something like that). I'm not convinced that's how gravity or structural engineering work like that!

Loved the Cornish mine building!

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 23/01/2021 13:13

My Australian friend built her own (illegal) little house in the bush. She was always sending me letters telling me how many bricks she had made this week - it took AGES to get enough to start building.

LaChatte · 24/01/2021 19:57

Everyone ready?

SheldonesqueIsAnExVirgin · 24/01/2021 20:00
