@xsquared

Can someone explain to me why Maisie is MEaisie?

I wanted Bill Bailey to win to begin with, but I am not sure whether he is good enough to deserve the win. Arguably, Maisie and HRVY are probably too good to win, but I don't mind if HRVY won.

Ranvir would have stood a chance had it not been for the unfortunate jive, as I saw very little technique.

I’m not sure who / where it was coined but it’s meant to suggest that Maisie is all about herself, so highlighting a ME in Maisie. Personally I don’t think it’s particularly witty or true but there we are Wink

elspeth

I am so sorry!!

Bimble forgiveness asked for. Flowers

Maireas · 13/12/2020 17:44

The Repair Shop is so lovely and heart warming. It's about items that have meaning and hold memories. It's like the antedote to the throw away, disposable landfill society. It's about skill and care and not having tonnes of meaningless plastic crap.

TheLadyOfShallnott · 13/12/2020 17:44

HUMBLE

SAKE. Autocarrot being an arse. Angry

FuzzyPuffling · 13/12/2020 17:46

I'd like to see Steve Fletcher from Repair Shop. He's lovely.
So is Will but far too young for me

TheLadyOfShallnott · 13/12/2020 17:47

It might have been me shirley

Sorry/not sorry.

I still think the same Blush

TheLadyOfShallnott · 13/12/2020 17:50

I don’t think I would be disappointed with anyone from the repair shop turning up next year.

G’wan Beeb - you know it makes sense!

SoupDragon · 13/12/2020 17:51

I agree… she's no more "me" than any of the others. It just seems mean.

TheLadyOfShallnott · 13/12/2020 17:56

I will take that on the chin soup

It is just the impression I got. And still have. It doesn’t mean I’m right.

Confused
FuzzyPuffling · 13/12/2020 17:59

On the telly at the moment (David Attenborough prog.)is an octopus who likes to perform for the camera. I wonder who that can be?

FuzzyPuffling · 13/12/2020 18:02

Octo just had a scrap with a shark....and won!
And she's now decorated herself with shells...definitely our Octo!

TheLadyOfShallnott · 13/12/2020 18:03

Has she got a performance fee?

ElspethFlashman · 13/12/2020 18:11

I've never had a problem with Maisie. Shes just a bit loud, but that's a combo of her age and profession and background. I don't really think it's wrong, just because it's a bit annoying.

Tbh Caroline Quentin was far worse!

And you could argue that Ranvir talks about herself more than Maisie - she's just the one who got the "journey" edit.

ShirleyPhallus · 13/12/2020 18:12

Ah I see. I’m afraid I’m not sure I always understand your posts or share the same sense of humour so perhaps that’s why I don’t get it Smile
TheLadyOfShallnott · 13/12/2020 18:14

I’m guessing you will be far from the only one shirley Sad

FuzzyPuffling · 13/12/2020 18:18

Well I'm just glad we can agree to disagree without the "YOU ARE SOOOO UNREASONABLE" so often found on other boards!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 13/12/2020 18:36

Shirley I’m with you on this. Maisie’s a tough, ambitious little London girl (Essex, even. We’re cut from the same cloth in some ways) who wants to get on and win- and there’s nothing wrong with that.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 13/12/2020 18:44

Fuzzy You’re so right. That’s the beauty of it; we squabble, we agree, agree to disagree and talk nonsense about sea creatures, which is why it’s so compelling and so much fun... and why we fill so many threads.

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 13/12/2020 18:48

.... which doesn’t mean Maisie’s all about herself, I meant to say.

SoupDragon · 13/12/2020 18:51

I've seen the trailer for tonight and I can confirm that some are dressed to repeat their first dance if necessary. Sadly Joe Varney is not dressed as a sailor.

No idea who is on the dance off, obviously!

Samcro · 13/12/2020 18:56

Me too Im a little bit in love with him
SoupDragon · 13/12/2020 18:56

I've also just seen a trailer for the Sewing Bee Christmas Special - how about Joe Lycett or Patrick Grant?

SchadenfreudePersonified · 13/12/2020 19:17

@Elderflower14

Does anyone else listen to Good Morning Sunday on Radio 2? I think Rev Kate might be angling for SCD next year... Dancing round the studio all the time and having Sequin Sunday today! 😁
Oh, Lord!

I hope not. I'm not a great fan of the Rev Kate (or the Rev Richard, either). I don't like publicity-greedy vicars.

TitsInAbsentia · 13/12/2020 19:19

Photo of Little Mix on twitter, must have been taken today because, well they're performing for the show today aren't they, it wasn't last night...anyway, very much a trio....

ElspethFlashman · 13/12/2020 19:21

A SEWING BEE CHRISTMAS SPECIAL YOU SAY??!!!!
