When Gary went round Tim and Sally's to fetch Faye's stuff (the weapon) why did he not just stuff it all in the rucksack in the house? Too easy. Instead, he sits there waiting for Tim to finish ironing her favourite top, looking as shifty as hell. Then he takes it outside and puts it in the bag outside! Just where PC Plod happens to be watching.
And don't get me started on Tim and Steve and the dinosaur outfits! Although it is sweet the way they look out for each other.
Where's Leanne? Still hiding in the flat?

Yes, fingers crossed that Peter's liver function test improves and he fully recovers!

You really shouldn’t be worried about a failing organ on Coronation st anyway. Everyone bounces back post transplant like new. I mean look at Carla!

SecretRedhead · 02/01/2021 21:33

@eddiemairswife

Craig is the most unconvincing police officer I have ever seen on TV.
This 100%. Like the least convincing of any copper ever that has ever existed. Including every one in the Bill and Heartbeat. He literally couldn't be less like a policeman if he was actively trying.

And Tracey!
SecretRedhead · 02/01/2021 21:35

Found it very sweet when Tim told Steve he was his best mate. Kind of like the time a few years back when he and Kevin were Bromancing hardcore (think it was Tim's early days with Sally) and he told Kevin he'd never had a brother but he felt like he did now. That was a nice moment too.

excelledyourself · 02/01/2021 21:47

Craig is so shit, yet also so sanctimonious. They way he was with Gary last night was cringeworthy.

PC Plum from Balamory could do a better job.

I’m sure I read somewhere that kidney transplants typically only last 20 - 25 years. Surely Tracy should be in trouble by now?

Phil & Nige from Early Doors could take PC Tinker under their wing (although Phil is now the detective on Gary's case.)

A work colleague of mine had a kidney transplant when she was 10 years old. It didn't fail until she was in her late 40s, when she luckily managed to get another one.

ToffeeNotCoffee · 02/01/2021 22:28

It reminds me of an old tv series Malice Aforethought with Hywell Bennett which was very clever unlike this.

I've never looked at sausages the same since.

I like that. It makes me smile.

Roussette · 03/01/2021 07:25

I liked the Tim/Steve friends forever thing too... it reminded me of classic Corrie with better writing.

Are Peter and carla back on again now then? I was only half watching

TellingBone · 03/01/2021 09:08

Tim/Steve idea based on Marlon/Paddy?

Speaking of old decor - when did Ken get rid of Deirdre's phallic metal mould on the kitchen wall?

Clawdy · 03/01/2021 09:19

Is that Victorian-type print of a boy scout figure still on the wall in the hall at Ken's?!

Virgo1958 · 03/01/2021 18:24

Obviously a plot device but Gary would not have let Craig look in his bag, Craig wasn't even in uniform.

nildesparandum · 03/01/2021 20:15

The words have been taken out of my mouth about Craig.
Round here where I live the locals would eat him for dinner.

JamieLeesCurtains · 04/01/2021 01:11

An off-duty out-of-uniform copper would be told to get fucked round here too, and we're quite a law-abiding neighbourhood really.

It'd be, 'I tell you what mate, come back with a warrant, eh?'

StillCoughingandLaughing · 04/01/2021 02:17

Which would be exactly what someone like Gary would say! It was a ridiculous scene.

DahliaMacNamara · 04/01/2021 10:22

Stupid beyond belief, but plot devices about disposing of incriminating evidence always are. Why make discreetly sure the weapon goes off to a distant landfill site when you can have a local copper catch you being all shifty with it?

Deadringer · 04/01/2021 12:35

Even he is a more credible copper than poor Craigy.

Loved the Thatcher comment this evening.

thenightsky · 04/01/2021 19:44

Dear god, what was all the rubbish Dev was spouting in the shop with Evelyn? Something about his mother, Hansworth in the 70s and burnt samosas.

Ahorsecalledseptember · 04/01/2021 20:14

Tonight was so boring!

Mollypolly2610 · 04/01/2021 20:18

Is it just me or is Faye pregnant in real life?
She’s put on weight (maybe due to lockdown as I have)

eggandonion · 04/01/2021 20:41

The mask, now you see it now you don't, is annoying
I've lost interest in the property deal.

JamieLeesCurtains · 04/01/2021 20:46

The property deal is so ridiculous. And yes, tedious. I don't care if they do pull all the houses down any more.
