Darcey is so sweet natured , I wouldn't think that SHE would have cared if she'd been Shirley. (they sit down most of the time anyway!). I miss Darcey Sad

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/12/2020 14:07

She may be traditionalish but I HATE Mrs Brown's Boys

So do I - not just because of the nasty drag, but because it isn't remotely funny.

TheLadyOfShallnott · 05/12/2020 14:09

I am Ada schadey

In so many ways. My ample bosom is usually hoiked for something. I don’t wear a headsquare though.

#Adaandproud

Danny never seemed nasty to me. That matters.

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2020 14:11

Oooh there's a name to conjour with Schady Grin Yes he was quite sweet in a weird way.

I don't like Hinge and Bracket (they're playing some of their series on 4Ex)
They just take the pxx mercilessly out of older women and it's meant to be funny.

ppeatfruit · 05/12/2020 14:15

Rupaul himself\herself is okish but some of the people on his show (Words fail me) Vile and hateful.

I do too.

Thanks for the new thread, ppeat!

IntermittentParps · 05/12/2020 14:51

Sorry, Polka

I am 100% behind you on the drag thing. I hate how it has become acceptable in the mainstream. As a feminist, I think the woman hating attitudes expressed in drag culture have no place on television.

Sunbird24 · 05/12/2020 17:54

I’m another that can’t stand that side of drag. Sure I still appreciate the skill and artistry that goes into the make up but the caricaturisation (might have just invented that word) of aspects of womanhood can be really offensive, particularly the use of the word ‘fishy’.

awaynboilyurheid · 05/12/2020 18:05

Also hate drag and that Michelle Visage programme The BBC seem to think we like to see a lot of this and I'm not really sure why.

VanityWitch · 05/12/2020 18:06

Hello! Sylvie, checking back in with new username. I was here last week under another name. I am trying to be enigmatic here, but really it was a tech fail on my part.

ShirleyPhallus · 05/12/2020 18:31

Signing in and another vote for the end of JJ!

VanityWitch · 05/12/2020 18:37

Yes, I also think JJ will go this week.

IntermittentParps · 05/12/2020 18:42

I suspect it will be Jamie and Maisie in the DO and obviously Jamie will go. I don't think voters will like the 'everyone's talking about Jamie' sentiment.
Pity; I like him.
I think JJ has at least one week left in him, and will get a 'he's game' vote for hoofing his way through a Charleston. Next time he has a Latin though I think the nation will let him go.

Lorraine loves it as well. It's all about her wee LGBTQ community fans otherwise known as cashing in

I hate it

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 05/12/2020 19:07

Evening All!
Bit early.
Can't believe we've got to the quarter finals without mentioning snacks.
This week I have a cheeky supermarket red and enough salt and vinegar Pringles to take the skin off my tongue...

GrouchyKiwi · 05/12/2020 19:13

I made snowballs with my children today (the kind with marshmallows in the middle) and I've eaten two so far. They are not small. I am trying to hold back from eating more so there are actually some left for tomorrow.

I'd love for JJ to go this week, but I agree with Parps that he'll get another week out of his valiant hero schtick.

Bowednotbroken · 05/12/2020 19:14

Another (mostly) lurker dropping in to agree about drag - hate its depiction of women. Also hate the way the bbc are normalising it with their station 'ident' things including a load of men in drag doing stereotypically 'women's' things. Gah!

Looking forward to the rest of Strictly though. Even if there is a lot wrong with the series it is still the highlight of my week! Enjoy following the thread alongside each week too - thank you!

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 05/12/2020 19:15

Snowballs!
Delish. I'll have some of those for afters, thanks

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 05/12/2020 19:17

I've been hoping for JJ to go too, but could he surprise and impress us all with his Charleston I wonder?

Bluffinwithmymuffin · 05/12/2020 19:22

....That's how I feel too. This year's been a bit off one way or another, but imho there's no such a thing as a bad series of Strictly

SchadenfreudePersonified · 05/12/2020 19:22

From Chris Rubery (the artist formerly known as Monkseal)

"Just realised that if we end up with a JJ, HRVY, Bill, Ranvir final there will officially be more contestants than vowels"

Pray that JJ is out.

Amen to that

Piggywaspushed · 05/12/2020 19:24

Evening! Found you!
