You decide.

Scottish accents can definitely be deceiving if you're English — somebody was telling me she had a crush on a mutual friend who she thought was "a bit of a bad boy".

He was a privately educated accountant, but the accent and the leather jacket were deceiving. Grin

Hard to judge the two schools when the Sunday times league table was produced today Radley was #60 out of #150 but Scottish schools aren't listed

SequinsandStiIettos · 29/11/2020 22:57

Next week Clara would have been dancing to All That Jazz.
Shame - I guess it would have been a foxtrot or cc?

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 29/11/2020 23:00

Anything based on exam results won't compare them. Tatler does, but they do divide by area.

Scotland and the North

Aljaz was obviously up on his toes despite having equally flat shoes!

Think JJ needs to go next week then I'll be happy whoever wins. Kilts are definitely made for twirling though!

EvilRingahBitch · 29/11/2020 23:11

Awww. I love a Chicago routine. Sad to miss that. Also sad that we didn’t get more patented Lovely Romantic Aljaz Ballroom.

TheSpottedZebra · 29/11/2020 23:12

Isn't Radley (where Jamie went) considered a Tim Nice But Dim school for the posh families who've been advised the son isnt going to cut it at Eton?

I remember him saying himself that he was too thick for Eton.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/11/2020 23:17
@SchadenfreudePersonified I’ve read that, I’d think the shock exit would be Maisie.

The papers do the ‘viewers outraged at strictly shock spoiler leak’ every single week.
See - that's what I thought Crayons - and I couldn't see it happening, so I thought I was safe to post.

To me, losing Clara was far from a shock (sadly)

SchadenfreudePersonified · 29/11/2020 23:22

His Dad doesn't work for McVities at all, he owns a travel agency

DAMN YOU ELSPETH!

DON'T CRUSH MY DREAMS!!!!!

ScienceSensibility · 30/11/2020 01:45

It’s always a sad day when Aljaz is eliminated, regardless of who he is dancing with! 😥

I loved Clara but she wasn’t dealt the best of hands in terms of dance choice or costume.

I am also devastated now to see Aljaz do am AT or super romantic ballroom dance. His waltz with Abbie Clancy is the stuff of Strictly dreams. ❣️❣️❣️

Piggywaspushed · 30/11/2020 07:17

Haha evil as I pointed out back in the Susan Calman days, I went to school with her! The current accent is not real ...Shock

christmassongs · 30/11/2020 07:41

I don't get the Clara love. She seems a nice person but she was always destined to go around the half way point. She was a mediocre dancer, with the exception of the Charleston but let's face it, that's always a crowd pleaser and nearly everyone gets high scores for that. If she didn't go this week it would have been next week, it was her time.

ilovebrie8 · 30/11/2020 07:58

Totally agree @christmassongs don’t get the Clara love either...she was okay but had reached her limits. Surprised that Craig saved her as he’s a stickler...will miss Alijaz he’s super !

FuzzyPuffling · 30/11/2020 08:05

Please don't turn this thread into a "Scots bashing the English"one. That would really upset me and I'd have to leave and that would make me sad. ☹️

Skipsurvey · 30/11/2020 08:06

But Clara was so happy, compared to JJ who looks bored

covetingthepreciousthings · 30/11/2020 08:19

But Clara was so happy, compared to JJ who looks bored

I agree, I'd have rather had JJ go because he doesn't seem to be enjoying it or seem to want to be there anymore. Where as both Clara and Jamie are loving it all.

ElspethFlashman · 30/11/2020 08:21

Yeah I think people wanted Clara to go further because she was a delight.

Such wonderful energy, just exactly the right sort of personality you want on Strictly.

But there was no way she could stay after the last 2 weeks.

JJ has no personality and is just one big victim/hero narrative which makes me very uncomfortable. BUT. He gets through the dances with few mistakes. That's mainly because he's had quite slow dances but still.

If you are looking at just their feet, then JJ doesn't deserve to go home yet.

covetingthepreciousthings · 30/11/2020 08:22

@ElspethFlashman that's all very true. I was glad that Jamie was saved saved out of the dance off last night. I think he deserves to go a bit further.

SylvieSangFroid · 30/11/2020 08:24

I'd rather Maisie went than JJof I'm totally honest. She seems s really sweet girl, but I haven't enjoyed any if her dances or chat tbh. Felt similarly about Caroline for some reason.

I loved them both at the beginning though, like in week one.

I'm really sad Nicola had to leave too.

SylvieSangFroid · 30/11/2020 08:25

Typos! It's too early.

TheOtherMaryBerry · 30/11/2020 08:40

I remember him saying himself that he was too thick for Eton.

Yes, I thought that. Did anyone see him on celebrity bake off a few years ago. He told Prue Leith that his brother had gone to Eton but he hadn't and she said to him...'so he's Eton and you're the mess.' His poor little face!

EvilRingahBitch · 30/11/2020 08:56

So what we do have from last night is some actual data. We all “knew” that Bill was shipping in votes by the tonne, but this is is solid evidence that people are indeed voting for him in some numbers.
More interesting is proof that Ranvir is getting decent votes, even with a nice-but-dull and under-hyped dance. I wasn’t sure about that.
JJ is getting some votes but due to his position on the leaderboard we don’t know how many.
Jamie appears to be toast, with little public support: as Monkseal pointed out he might have been consistently unpopular and only saved by his freakishly high positions on the leader board for the last two weeks.
Maisie and HRVY might have got no votes at all for all we know. If the public vote went (low to high)
HRVY
Maisie
Jamie
Clara
Ranvir
JJ
Bill
...which seems not implausible... then we’d have got the result we saw.

ppeatfruit · 30/11/2020 08:59

No I'm on here to BEG the Strictly powers NEVER to have that circus\gymnast couple on again, YEUCH YEUCH YEUCH vom vom vom

That terrible mouth hold lift was the effing end .IT WASN'T DANCING

Clara had had enough IMO she works and couldn't give the time to rehearsals . Aliaz should've choreographed for her not for him. His hair was what the teddy boys used to have in the 50s btw. !!

JJ wanted to go too, shame.

the80sweregreat · 30/11/2020 09:03

I have a feeling J J will end up in the final!
..

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 30/11/2020 09:04

@ppeatfruit but they weren't in 50's/ teddy boy costuming and it was really flueffy rather than a brilcreme quiff.
