Ooooohhhhh, that sounds juicy (the Lulu goss) ~ where was that reported? Who else was on the 'list'?

Does anyone know if it's possible to watch entire series of old season Strictly, rather than just individual dances? My memory is so rubbish that I know I could enjoy rewatching the whole thing almost as if it's new!

I've never liked Lulu. On the 'one show ' once she came across as a bit of a diva and went on and on about her vocal chords! The presenter had to try and move her on.
I didn't see her on strictly as I didn't watch it back then but I can imagine she was ' hard work '

Sadly, I don't think it is. And lots of the very early dances aren't even on YouTube anymore.

I'm always surprised this isn't an option on iplayer, especially this year what with lockdown and lack of new programs, I wonder why they don't? They must have them available.

I wonder if they keep it under tight restrictions as it's a worldwide franchise? I don't exactly know how that follows, but it's my best clueless guess.

Every now and then there is a sort of "I wonder what they are like IRL" thread on here, and people who have met celebs tell of their own experiences etc.

Lulu (and the late Cilla Black) are among the ones who seem to be universally detested. Many celebs - someone will put something negative, and someone else will pop up with a "Oh they must have been having a bad day - I met them when my car broke down and they stopped and changed my tyre and lent me their phone so I could call my mum and let her know i would be late etc etc etc".

Not with these . . . one person posts a negative comment and it becomes a "Huh! That's nothing! You know what she did to my small, elderly, toothless, three-legged blind dog when he collapsed when we were crossing the road in front of her limousine . . . ?"

I wonder if the lack of earlier Strictly availability is due to music rights?

Why ' made an effort'? He is a genuine ballroom dancer, isn't he?
I think he was a Latin specialist albeit did training in both but very late - 18 iirc. Competed in Latin American with Camilla. So I guess what I meant was, that although he specialised in Latin 8in the same way Tony specialises in ballroom) that unlike Mr. Beak he brought his ballroom up to the same standard (some of you will now tell me he didn't but I did like his waltzes and Vienneses and wouldn't have known he was more of a Latin specialist if I hadn't told!)
Also d'oh! and thanks to the pp who reminded me they double the
dances in musicals week etc so someone, somewhere might still do a rumba! (maybe, just one).

Ah yes. The jive that was in no way a jive.

Still, it prompted one of the best ever ITT events: ‘bottom two goddess’ Jamelia calling out the producers for redoing the audience reaction takes in the dance off to make him seem more popular than he was, and Tristan’s ‘Oh shit!’ face as she did it. EPIC! 🙌🙌🙌

My favourite moment too. Didn’t she do air quotes when she was talking about his standing ovation?
Also when Tristan told Zoe that most of the pros werent really that bothered about Blackpool.

One of the videos I miss is Hanna Karttunen and Victor Da Silva’s show dance back in 2006. They were dancing to AC/DC.

Have seen Brenda‘s live show twice and he mentioned the unhappy pairing with Lulu both times, never added any details though.

I couldn't watch old series of Strictly again because I couldn't stand Bruce the first time round; watching him again would be unbearable.

I'd love to see some of the earlier series again, we only really got into it in series four, and have been absolutely hooked ever since. I wouldn't mind seeing some of the old Come Dancings as well.

If they were doing re-runs of anything, not Strictly-related, I'd love to see the Andrew Lloyd Webber searches again.

I agree with Polkadots and many previous posters. I would love to see the old series again.

I thing the BBC missed a trick in lockdown, not making these available on iplayer. It would have greatly enhanced the mood of the nation!

We could always fast forward through Tess and/or Brucie depending on your taste, but it would be magical to see them all again.

As said, You Tube has many particular dances, but it’s the whole development of the dancers, week by week, that I would really enjoy watching. For example, I’d didn’t see the first series AT ALL.

I used to think this, but in hindsight, he was a gazillion times less irritating than Tess! 😀

Personally, I think they haven't made the earlier series available because we'd all remember how much better they were & wouldn't want to watch their current offering!
