SCD '20 #6: Have no fear, Judge Anton's here!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 14/11/2020 17:18

I'm a bit worried we'll run out the other thread tonight, and it'll be too fast-paced for me to get a new one going during the show, so I'm getting prepared early!

Feel free to place mark or watch this thread, but head back to the previous thread for the moment, and we can move across later. Glitterball

Also enjoyed heidi Stephen guardian blog

Best random moment was Claudia backing into the disco balls cos of 2 meter distance.
Cringe was when Caroline wanted to be whisked off by Anton and also got too close to Tess.
I like the fact that it happens sometimes in the moment.

FuzzyPuffling · 14/11/2020 21:29

I did wonder what you meant, Sheldon!
Excellent summary as ever. It gets a 10 from me.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 21:30

I knew one or two who would have worn Judge Rinder’s outfit in their down time. Fancy dress natch.

There is a photo (no mobiles thank god) of me as a dominatrix - I was 5ft 4, 6 stone lighter than now and covered in pvc. With thigh high dancing girl boots. And a 6ft6 Welshman as a pet gimp.

We wore lots of things you might not expect in our forces days Shock Wink

Ellmau · 14/11/2020 21:30

Anton was OK as a judge - a bit too nice, but that was balanced out by Craig who has rediscovered his inner bitch this week.

Lots I enjoyed this week. Harvey was great, Ranvir & Giovanni were very hot, Max was quite classy, Jamie has amazing enthusiasm and brio, and Clara was brilliant.

Less good:

JJ - loved the staging and choreography but he was a bit laboured. He might get enough votes with the military tie in to escape the danceoff.

Bill & Oti - I hated the dance. There didn't seem to be much actual dancing in it.

Maisie - technically fine, but it was all a bit jerky, and I just didn't enjoy it as much as her previous dances.

Caroline - I think she's in trouble this week. Her extensions are lovely, but she was a bit, well, waddly, at times.

I only missed Nicola as the likely boot. Her not being here means someone decent will be in the danceoff and could go home.

It ought to be JJ based on dance ability, but I am predicting a Shock Bottom Two of Caroline versus Maisie (although Max or Ranvir might be at risk), with Caroline going home.

unique1986 · 14/11/2020 21:30

A shock would be if Masie left. I'd be annoyed as think she could do better.
Routine was weird.

Maireas · 14/11/2020 21:34

Well, MajorSheldonBstard, you've painted quite a picture. I'm going to sleep easy in the knowledge that our shores are defended by such a remarkable military machine. As you were.

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 14/11/2020 21:35

@FuzzyPuffling

WOW! What terrific scores!

My votes: Clara, Jamie and Bill.

Puffin snap!
lynsey91 · 14/11/2020 21:36

I really enjoyed tonight's show. Anton was great, much better than Motsi, mind you that's not difficult. Don't bother coming back Motsi.

Bill and Oti was my favourite dance but I enjoyed them all really except Gorka and Maisie. Didn't like the robotics although they both did them well and Gorka, who is a good looking sexy man, looked like the village idiot in those shorts and stupid socks

the80sweregreat · 14/11/2020 21:37

If Maisie goes and Caroline stays I'll just explode with rage !

Maireas · 14/11/2020 21:38

Is someone trying to de-gorgeous Gorka? I accuse Gemma.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 21:43

Junior ranks only maireas

They’d have been horrified at me in the mess. Though for a junior, my best mate was my warrant officer. He was my world. You know when you just fit with someone? Well it was him. (RIP Sad) We were thick as thieves much to his wife’s amusement. (She was the loveliest lady (apart from my mam) I’ve ever known.

If we’d have been recalled from that fancy dress party there would have been a few red faces going past the guardroom.

But rest assured, we might have partied like dungeon people but we were diligent. And honestly did serve you well. Smile

Happy times and fond memories. 😢

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 21:45

If Gemma has tried to de-gorgeous Gorka due to curses of the strictly variety then she’s done a ruddy good job Grin

TheMadGardener · 14/11/2020 21:45

Lots of love for Clara and Aljaz in this house. Along with Oti and Bill they're our favourites. Gave Ranvir one vote though as she was undermarked this week.
Think it might be Caroline, Max or JJ in the DO.

Maireas · 14/11/2020 21:46

Sheldon I am confident that you served us well!! Humour and diligence in abundance. I am very sorry for the loss of your dear friend. I know what it's like when you just click with someone. I'm glad you've got funny and happy memories Flowers xx

JamminDoughnuts · 14/11/2020 21:47

surely maisie and caroline's scores from the judges are too high for them to be in trouble

Ellmau · 14/11/2020 21:49

Maisie was exactly midway on the leader board, and Caroline was second from bottom.

Ellmau · 14/11/2020 21:50

Fourth from bottom, actually, but def in the danger zone. Only Ranvir, Max and JJ were below her and Maisie.

Thefirsttime · 14/11/2020 21:52

@covetingthepreciousthings

I love Karen now too, I remember her being really annoying in past series but actually she seems to have mellowed a bit and become more likeable.
It’s last year when she was partnered with Chris Ramsey and they were v funny together when I think people really started warming to her.
stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 21:52

Thank you maireas x

We weren’t really allowed to mix but we lived near eachother and he defied convention to be my friend. And because he was such a lovely man and so highly respected, the boss turned a blind eye. I was his happy little shadow Smile.

Maireas · 14/11/2020 21:54

Lovely x

the80sweregreat · 14/11/2020 21:55

Sheldon, I'm so sorry you lost your best friend. Life is so hard at times.

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 21:55

I too used to be a bit meh about Karen. And Janette come to that. Possibly because they used to grind my kidneys when they used to even out gurn Neil in the clauditorium.

I’ve grown to really like them now.

But I can be contrary like that...

stillsomewhatsheldonesque · 14/11/2020 22:00

Thank you the80s x

And yes. They really were great. Wink

the80sweregreat · 14/11/2020 22:02

They were! The best.
