I'm a bit worried we'll run out the other thread tonight, and it'll be too fast-paced for me to get a new one going during the show, so I'm getting prepared early!

Feel free to place mark or watch this thread, but head back to the previous thread for the moment, and we can move across later. Glitterball

Well it was hardly revealing anything was it? For goodness sake I think any of them really could be regarded as a shock exit.

Oh FFS, why say anything at all?! Revealing any kind of spoiler is Not On. Imo. Saying it’s “a shock” is a spoiler. Not cool.

Poshjock · 15/11/2020 19:10

I've just caught up on Strictly and this thread (by god it moves quick). The telebox signal was off last night so thank god for BFBS 24. Hopefully signal will remain good for tonight - the weather's making it a bit shaky...

Anyhoo, thoughts on last night:

NVWLS: JNTT was a blur, I find HRVY annoying good, although I agree with Craig entirely his hip swivels were good but between moves there was none.

Ranvir: I didn’t like it, I found it stilted and there was no hips, not enough straight leg so seemed a bit wooden. Which is a shame because I like Ranvir so much. This just wasn’t her dance.

Max: I wish they wouldn’t do AS so early. He’s just not accomplished enough to provide the magic for this dance. It was fine, but very pedestrian.

JJ: Didn’t see any of that, I cried through it all. I have a soft spot for the Marine.

Maisie: First time I’ve watched her and really warmed to her. I though she did the doll character bit at the beginning well and she can move her hips. I enjoyed watching that. Gorka’s shorts and socks were entirely off-putting though.

Bill : I don’t love that style of dancing, but I have to hand it to Bill, he looked entirely comfortable throughout that and I totally appreciate the work and level of difficulty in that. At the end when Oti put the shades on I thought she looked utterly gorgeous. I have a girl crush.

Mrs Farmer: I so wanted to like CQ, but to be honest I find her a bit boring and the dance was very meh. I feel bad saying that. She looked so uncomfortable throughout the judging. I believe she is the consummate professional Actor. She need to let her hair down and let us revel in the joy of who she is.

BVB: In comparison to JJ I laughed all the way through this one. I was properly surprised at how well he did it and so was he it would seem! The choreo was inspired.

Clara: She looked gorgeous and she gave that her all. What a mover, amazing legs. Her personality shone through that. Clara is favourite in this competition, she can dance, she is having a jourrrrney and she comes over as a throughly lovely person. I really get her through her dances. Kudos to Aljaz for showing off Clara at her very best.

I though Tony Beak did really well in the judges seat, he warmed up well and some of the feedback was useful. Also think he channelling his inner Len.

Claudia’s head in the balls was a divine moment. She is such a natural on live TV. Polar opposite to Tess who acts like an apprentice despite being on the show for 16 years.

Then why post it unless looking for a reaction?

SoupDragon · 15/11/2020 19:16

I was going to post earlier about not looking at stuff online because there were hints at a spoiler everywhere but decided not to as I couldn't work out how to word it so the warning itself wouldn't be a spoiler.

Redcrayons · 15/11/2020 19:19

Thanks for posting the videos, I have fallen down a lovely YT rabbit hole watching proper dancing for an hour. Really shows how they dumb it down for the telly.

So annoyed with myself, I accidentally read the spoiler last night. Serves me right for doom scrolling late at night.

I’m not going to comment again till the result is known.

Skipsurvey · 15/11/2020 19:19

Claudia's head in the glitter balls was fabulous Grin

tess could not be more annoying

melj1213 · 15/11/2020 19:20

I thought he did really well too - he made sure to find something to praise with every couple as well as providing some technical comments and critiques in a constructive way (I like Craig's no nonsense technical feedback but he sometimes just lists off teams of things they didnt do without actually providing anything constructive for them to work on specifically)

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2020 19:27

Welcome to the supermarket.

Clawdy · 15/11/2020 19:28

Great start, can't beat a bit of James Brown.

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2020 19:28

A bit of Jay Kay!

ShirleyPhallus · 15/11/2020 19:28

I honestly don’t think there has ever been such an annoying dancer as Neal

Even KFG would be preferable to his kooky, smug, “who me” look

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2020 19:29

Are they shopping for loo rolls?

ShirleyPhallus · 15/11/2020 19:29

Also, no one would ever dance to this after Centre Stage. That dance was absolutely fucking amazing to Canned Heat

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2020 19:30

The dance was cool despite the stupid theme.

Clawdy · 15/11/2020 19:30

Tess looks lovely.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/11/2020 19:30

Evening all.
Supermarket themed. I'm glad they did this as I can't remember what a supermarket looks like (not been in once since March 10th!)
Was shopping every this lively?

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2020 19:30

It was fun.

melj1213 · 15/11/2020 19:30

I work in a supermarket and I wish my co workers had anywhere close to this level of musicality! Grin

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 15/11/2020 19:30

It was good. I'm feeling a bit starved of pro ballroom though!

@Bluffinwithmymuffin. I did some more research while avoiding cleaning my house...Hayley Sanderson is the singer whose voice I love.

Thanks for all the hard work, Hayley and the other musicians! Glitterball

herecomesthsun · 15/11/2020 19:31

That looked like Katya in there! But she's isolating! How did that happen!

the80sweregreat · 15/11/2020 19:31

I like Clauds hair.
Craig looking dapper.

FuzzyPuffling · 15/11/2020 19:32

How does Claud get her hair so shiny? (And don't say Head and Shoulders) It's fabulous.

mogloveseggs · 15/11/2020 19:32

That was good! Having to watch upstairs on iplayer as the aerial up here is dreadful Hmm

GrouchyKiwi · 15/11/2020 19:32

The pro dances were recorded a few weeks before the show started, here.
