The only reason Strictly might fade away is because the producers are ignoring what the loyal viewers really want.

Yes, I know viewing figures are great, but frankly, after the year we’ve all had, I will watch anything covered in glitter where nice frocks and dancing are evident.

I’m sure Len used to try and explain some of the technicalities in his judging comments, but of course he would be drowned out by Tess gurning and encouraging the audience to go ‘booooo’. Followed by “well we loved it, didn’t we ladies and gentlemen?”

I cling to the basic concept of Strictly and the “good old days” but the current producers have fucked about with it so much, more interested in showing off their newest CGI machine than a heel lead. 😡

I’d actually go further if it was up to me and have set figures for each dance that must be shown by everyone. Nothing too demanding but 2 or 3 Silver/Gold syllabus figures to try and avoid all the faffing about that so many of them try to get away with.

I think they effectively used to do that in Len's day, didn't they?

He told them off if they didn't include X or performed too many Ys or the lifts were too high etc.

I liked the explanations of the dances before, wish they would do it all the time.

Just because they keep banging on about how dancing as a same-sex couple is so different.

I understand why they can’t do it now. You could potentially get someone self isolating themselves into the final.
It’s a bit of shame for her, in any other year if Katya has to Pull out. she’d carry on. I would have liked to see her try a ballroom.

Would love to see the pros showing how the dances should be done. Only when you see them dance together you realise how much they dumb it down for the celebs.

I would have like to have seen her do a ‘proper’ dance. But I honestly think she’d found her niche and it would maybe have gone a bit wrong in a foxtrot or similar.

I would insist on floor length frocks as my legs are hideous (do they do 4.5ft bugle beads?) for every dance. Unless they did me glittery leggings and a knee length spangly T-shirt. No one needs to see anatomy.
