It seems that despite Pat organising events like "what I would wear today" to pass the interminable time, the ghosts have never really used the talking sessions to talk about their own deaths.

I think last week Mary was ready to talk about her burning but was put off at the last minute by an actual fire. So maybe they do.

Loved the ghosts intermingling with the house-party. Humphrey came into his own. Sad for Thomas that it was all a misunderstanding and manipulation but loved Mat as the romantic hero on horseback Wonder if we will meet any other past ghosts who have been "sucked off"!

Oh thanks @Mrsjayy ! I just watched it and didn’t understand the final scene but you have just made the penny drop.Very clever episode, but I don’t think this series is as funny.

Yes it was quite an aww moment that Thomas has to carry the false letter for eternity i think the laughs are more subtle this series and last nights has been the best yet.

I keep changing my mind as to who is my favourite. This week my dcs and I mainly me it has to be said are conversing as Mary.

In the "what would you choose to wear" bit, I loved that Robin was getting all technical with a spacesuit. He'd obviously been watching a lot of moonah- telly!

I loved how the other ghosts “ spoke Robin” when it was his turn to narrate the story.

The only character who doesn’t work for me is Mike. I think his part is underwritten and they could do so much more with it.

The story about Alison's old flame was a pointless bit of padding imo but Mike's role is really as a comedy foil to Alison because he can't see the ghosts.

I agree about Mike. Just because he can't see the ghosts doesn't mean he has to be free of personality. I do think they could make more of him...and hope they will in future!

I thought it worked OK as another example of how there is more than one version of the truth - in this case the actual truth and the story Alison told Mike.
I'm still cross at the evil cousin bringing about Thomas's death so he could get his hands on (what will become) Button Hall.
