i was confused by Havers walking away too, was he meant to be a ghost or a memory?

SoupDragon · 08/10/2020 07:59

A memory I think.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 08/10/2020 08:53

Yes I think it’s a memory of Havvers leaving. Still want to know how the Captain dies, I don’t think he actually jumped on a mine IRL, because as Mary says, “you stay where you dies, and how you dies” hence the arrow and bullet holes, but the Captain looks pretty much intact.

We’ve just finished watching Yonderland in our house and now spend a lot of time saying “Debbaaaay” or singing “thank you Debbie” to each other.

I'm so mad at myself for missing it on Monday, not in the UK so have no access to iplayer. Mad!

7Days · 09/10/2020 20:06

Omg its on now in terrestrial if anyone missed it on monday

BruceAndNosh · 12/10/2020 21:05

Anyone just watched Thomas's episode?
Might just be my favourite yet!

chrislilleyswig · 12/10/2020 21:19

It's my favourite

Robins narration was perfect

FintyTin · 12/10/2020 21:19

Beautifully done. So interesting to hear the contrasting versions of his story and how each of them remembers is slightly differently.
And then Robin and his sister!!

ImAncient · 12/10/2020 21:30

Loved it! Though sad. Poor Thomas.

Mrsjayy · 12/10/2020 21:47

We caught up eventually and just watched the Thomas episode poor Thomas loved the many many DAMN YOUR EYES though Grin i am loving Mary this series she is very funny.

AccioWine · 12/10/2020 22:36

It is a wonderful episode. So sad, but with such funny bits too. They really are incredible!

BruceAndNosh · 12/10/2020 22:52

We are used to seeing all the ghosts as already dead, but I think that was the first time we saw a scene in flashback with one ghost character still alive but being observed by other older ghosts. Very clever

SinisterBumFacedCat · 12/10/2020 23:59

They just keep getting better and better don’t they?

DigOutThoseLemonHandWipes · 13/10/2020 00:06

Loved tonight's episode very funny and touching too. (And because I have a childish sense of humour loved poor Alison trying to replace "sucked off" in the ghosts' vocab.)

SoupDragon · 13/10/2020 07:57

OMG! I forgot to watch it last night! 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'll have to skim past this thread until tonight...

FuzzyPuffling · 13/10/2020 08:41

Poor Thomas! And horrible cousin.
I did love Robin's narration, "man do poem"!

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/10/2020 08:47

I did love Robin's narration, "man do poem"!

'Some flowers - a girl - wine'

I loved Robin, Kitty and Mary's different experiences of the party.

ImAncient · 13/10/2020 08:52

On a boring note I often found it interesting how witnesses in a case would often remember things differently.

CaptainMyCaptain · 13/10/2020 09:01

@ImAncient

On a boring note I often found it interesting how witnesses in a case would often remember things differently.
Not boring at all and it's not just memory per se, it's all the other experiences you bring to it. At a party one person might notice and, therefore, remember the clothes people were wearing, another notices the grandeur, another (who has spent their life often hungry) notices the food. The one who is just a head on the floor notices the shoes, I took my 3 year old to an adult get together and when we got back she described all the shoes but not who they belonged to.
SinisterBumFacedCat · 13/10/2020 10:54

CaptainMyCaptain that’s so sweet your 3 year old just remembering all the shoes.
It was interesting how the more recently deceased ghosts were waiting for the others to join them last night and said the others were always late, like the older ones have no concept of time or are past caring now and a bit more chilled out. Or I might be reading too much into a plot device Confused.

Last night’s was so clever and funny and sad, one of those programs you can’t stop thinking about the next day. It’s the only tv we all watch together when it’s actually on intentionally. Thomas dying alone was so sad, at least the ghosts were there to welcome him. Also finally saw a different side to Julian!

FuzzyPuffling · 13/10/2020 13:42

I really want something happy to happen to Thomas now. Last night was so sad. Can happy things happen to ghosts, do you think?

Mrsjayy · 13/10/2020 13:47

I think happy things can happen to ghosts yes i mean Mary and Robin have their little "thing" going on Grin

Mrsjayy · 13/10/2020 13:48

I felt really sad that Thomas couldn't get rid of the letter Sad

BruceAndNosh · 13/10/2020 13:49

It seems that despite Pat organising events like "what I would wear today" to pass the interminable time, the ghosts have never really used the talking sessions to talk about their own deaths.

BruceAndNosh · 13/10/2020 13:50

I also want to know why and how Annie the ghost got "sucked off"
