I was just reading that there were 9 mothers in the US Open draw - funny how only one seems to get a mention

You did well with your list of 70s players! I think Jeremy Bates would definitely have been too young I'd be struggling to name any others of the 70s.

Apart from guessing at John Lloyd I'm far too young to remember any of those. That and the fact that Wimbledon was the only tennis I got to watch in my youth. Which is getting to be the case in my dotage as well. Thanks for nothing Sky.

John Lloyd was one of them - the photo they used makes him look like a 70s version of Zverev. Or Zverev's a 21st century John Lloyd, not sure which

Legs Lloyd was quite a dish in his youth (by '70's standards )

Yes kazza Roger Taylor was there, plus Mark Cox and Gerald Battrick (I hadn't heard of him I'm sad to say). 3 out of 4 kazza!

YY, Gerald Battrick- he's the 4th one (that I will have to bank , for future Pointless reasons)- on googling, I discoverd he was Welsh, retired in 76 (probably why I hadn't heard of him), and died at the age of only 51, in 98.

But he's had a mention today.

And to answer my previous musing, It was Olympia's birthday yesterday.

It's is Djok's daughter (Tara's) birthday today, I think.

They are both 3.

I am full of useless info today.

I think it is, Joudain, possibly out by about a week- I am sure the final usually coincides with my dcs going back to school. (Altough this year is all out of sync!).

Just been watching Kerber - close second set but she played really well.

Now watching Kvitova v (Madam) Kozlova.

(Madam Kozlova is a character in Paddington 2 but every time they say "Kozlova" I think "don't you mean Madam Kozlova")

Anyway she is playing well and serving for the first set.
