Recommendations for Australian series?

I really enjoyed Australian dramas The Slap, and The secrets she keeps.
Can anyone recommend any other series based in Australia please? The accent is cheering me up and transports me to a sunny place in lieau of a summer holiday

Wanted on Netflix is brilliant - great mix of drama and comedy.

Go for Rake. Comedy/drama about a lawyer who is good at his job but can't keep his personal life in order. Very well written and acted

Just watching another drama with one of the characters lady’s from Downton Abbey in think it might be the secret she keeps but can’t remember the exact title sorry they all merge into one at the minute.

Yes, definitely A Place to Call Home. Pleny of beautiful sunshine (and gorgeous people and costumes too!)

I'm another fan of Offspring. I loved the Melbourne setting and all the babies being born. The lead character is an obstetrician and with a colourful family and love life. Her sister is fab too.

Offspring not bad, the actress who plays Sharee (not sure how you spell that) has been in a lot of good things. Puberty Blues was also good (although about frustratingly thick teenagers but still 70s Australia goodness). Let Down was ok but overly wanky at times. They did a tv adaptation of Hanging Rock recently but the film was a million times better.

J’amie private school girl is on point if you ever wondered what life is like in elite Australian girls schools. Talking about my Generation (or something to that effect) was also great despite being a game show.

The gloaming - police/mystery/supernatural - I watched this on Aus streaming service Stan so not sure where this is available in uk
Glitch - historical/sci fi/supernatural - on Netflix
Second the above mentions of offspring, the letdown and stateless.

Offspring is fab! Definitely recommend that. And Glitch and Wanted are good too. Aussie dramas seem a bit more realistic than US ones.

'Housos' is a comedy. Its a few years old, and you may not know the sterotypes, but I found it hilarious. (But I grew up in Australia)

I like Bondi Rescue and Bondi Vet. Neither are soaps, but remind me of home!

Wentworth Series 8 goes to air in Aus next Tues 28th July. Series 9 in 2021 is the final in the series. BooHoo!!!!

@WindyRose - more Wentworth! That’s great news, especially as I thought it had come to the end!

Wentworth was planned to finish at Series 7, but fans not happy and told them so, then it was extended for a further two series. They have said it won't extend past Series 9 though.

Oh, Mystery Road is another favourite. I like watching anything with Aaron Pedersen.
