I'm just watching Serena in Lexington. Third set has just started but a bit of an error strewn match on both sides - no surprise really after the long lay off. And the heat I guess as well.

Catherine and Daniela were talking about Jo's road trips earlier - can understand her wanting to minimise flying at the mo but those are long car journeys! Hope they have AC (air conditioning, to clarify ).

I imagine being in a car with AC would be like being in car with my MI. When we lived in London the in-laws came over for a family wedding. MIL read out every street sign between our house and the wedding venue. It was a long journey.

It is so hot here, it's awful! There's been a storm going on for about the past hour but it seems just as humid as it was before

Rafa just got a mention on the radio - it’s left handed day tomorrow and Radio 6 are trying to get a playlist which includes left handed guitarists. Apparently although Rafa plays tennis left handed when he uses his racquet as a guitar he plays right handed - who knew (my smilies aren’t working today for some reason!)

Lots of tennis birthdays - DH and DS2 are both lefties - not sure which hand they use to play tennis racquet guitar!

Yes August is a good month for tennis birthdays isn't it?

I'm so sick of this humidity now. I don't mind heat so much but this is just awful!!

So,dh and I finally made it to the Japanese teppanyaki grill thay we meant to go to nearly 9 years ago.

It is really not the weather for it.

But the food was lovely.

Ah - lovely Raahh. It sounds great. I love Japanese food, am v envious!

Private it was lovely- even though we were home before 9 (so rubbish at going 'out' )- but oh boy, not the best place to go in a heatwave , a teppanyaki grill. Was like being cooked alive. And there was no air conditioning. I was melting.
Food was lovely though, and I do love the 'show'. Very reasonable too, with or eat out discount .

The dc did laugh when we were home before 9.

(And that was even factoring in that we went into the city centre, and not just around the corner like we usually do!).

It seems to have cooled off a bit here. I woke really early and went out for a walk at 6.30 absolutely unheard of for me. It was lovely!

must the day for it - I was up walking the dog before 7am.

Unfortunately so, was everyone else! But it was a lot cooler. Feels cooler today here- but it's hard to tell, since we have air con down stairs. The hot air then hits you like a brick on the stairs .

(Good thing there is no tennis on- as that is my go-to area to sit when stressed).

Stefan Edberg was being interviewed on the tennis Podcast this week about his "retirement tour". He didn't recommend it!
