The local lockdowns are worrying - especially as they seem to be brought in with very little notice . Cases in our area are quite high.

It’s weird - the last week or so I’ve been doing relatively normal things like meeting a friend for coffee, going to the pub, eating out - all within the guidelines but I don’t see how cases won’t increase

I haven’t watched much of the Battle of the Brits - it makes me want to watch a proper tournament with crowds etc. I also still don’t see how the US Open can go ahead

Has anyone heard anything from Djok or is he still in hiding? Felt really sorry for Grigor - sounds as if he’s really been through it and is still feeling the effects of the virus

Anyway hope everyone has a better day today - it’s supposed to be 32 degrees here - we're supposed to be having a BBQ later (probably when the thunderstorms arrive )

We have a washing machine arriving Sunday. Have had to pay extra for that (could have had it tomorrrow, but irony of ironies, dh is out- and I do not want to wrestling machines on my own!)

And...my granny has cancelled her party. Knew she would. I don't think she wanted it in the first place- my poor mother is between a rock and a hard place- if she hadn't organised anything, my gran would have complained to all and sundry that no-one did anything. Yet she has been saying for months she didn't want a fuss.

Well, the current situtation means there is now uncertainty over whether the restaurant would actually let us all go. So- she has a get out clause. I think my mother is relieved.

Families, eh. .

My mother lives just over 3 miles away- but it crosses a border, so she is effectively in Cheshire East, not Greater Manchester and not covered by the new rules, afaik. I can still visit her. I think. .

But she can't visit me. Or my sister, who lives a mile up the road. .
And that's awkward- because my mum's partner works for my sister's company .

Well right on cue as soon as we lit the BBQ the thunder started and then as we sat down to eat the rain came so we had to go inside . I need to go to one of Stan’s BBQs!

Oh that's crap Fizzy. I did enjoy them but it was very short, just filler between matches. I used to have this drawn on my school bag

I remember dancing to Baggy Trousers at the school disco . I think I also had that on my school bag (done in biro!)

I was talking to the dog about Kyrgios earlier- if he isn't going to the US- is he not going to Europe either? He made his feeling on clay very clear last year .

And I remember going to Woollies to buy 'You're an Embarrassment' with my sister one year. I was never really a Madness fan.

Maybe he'll never leave Australia again!
